the lox, and especially jadakiss changed the way people rap.

Maybe in the east coast and parts of the Midwest like Detroit, not anywhere else.

dipset's national fanbase, popularity & classic status trumps dj quik by a wide-margin. its not even up for debate.

DJ Quik has a platinum record and three gold plaques to Camron's platinum record and two gold plaques, it's more than debatable.

What do you mean by "classic status"?

come on breh.

You acted like Jadakiss is head and shoulders above them nikkas but don't got the receipts.

basing everything off of numbers is always a recipe for disaster.

nevermind the fact that camron sells way more bootleg than retail.

jada head & shoulders above who? THE JACKA?:laff:

Bruh you're saying this but not posting any proof of it.

You think quik wasn't getting bootlegged? Lol

jada head & shoulders above who? THE JACKA?:laff:

Yeah, The Jacka. Kiss got a much bigger name but when it comes to albums the Jacka shyts on him. What Jadakiss record is fukkin with The Jacka of the Mob Figaz, The Jack Artist and Tear Gas? One of them is a certified classic (Jack Artist) and the other two are arguable as well depending on who you ask.

And as far as lyricism you've yet to make a case. Why do you hold kiss over either Boots Riley or Jacka? This ain't DJ Quik were talking about, we're talking about lyricists.

1.) no they dont. rakim isnt even the 1st to use intricate rhymes, so how is everybody that does such automatically influenced by rakim? that makes no sense.

2.) you do realize, that alot of the critics behind the magazine ratings that you dudes worship are weirdos & faqs themselves right? theres no coincidence. not to mention, that alot of these high marks are paid for - kendrick's being amongst the most obvious.

3.) you need to ask because you need to go do some research. i wouldve just answered your question str8 up, but you tried to get snotty so i'll just let you look foolish in the meantime.

You are yet to do anything other than stall.

Pretty much every decent rapper the past 30 years calls Rakim the GOAT. Go ahead, tell me who he bit his style from

Ra bit his style from jazz artists. That's why his style was so revolutionary. He rapped like a jazz musician with rhythms straight from jazz.

And if you ask someone for their rationale behind picking Jada, they're going to say because he raps good. Honestly, what better reason is there to put someone in your top five?

Um, because they make really good music?

and in terms of influence, jada is def in contention for the top spot on your list. hes easily more influential than redman & ghostface.

you cant compare bootlegging out there to the east coast. its a completely different world. yall wouldnt understand if yall never been up top.

dog. no disrespect but im not even gonna sit here and entertain an argument about the jacka & boots riley being better lyricists than jadakiss.

its just funny how the main people complaining about east coast bias, will turn around and exhibit bias that are even more extreme than what theyre complaining about.

see this that chit i dont like. trying to clown people with silly gifs, especially when YOURE the one thats talking out your ass.

thats when i stop talking to people. same reason why i ignored you on the rakim topic, cuz you got snotty. now youre sitting there talking to yourself about how rakim supposedly got his whole style from jazz. smh.

have fun reveling in ignorane buddy.

lol @ redman & ghostface being more influential than jadakiss.

Fair enough

Frankly Jadakiss and Jacka are actually not that different at all as far as lyrical content so I lightweight don't see how you can think one is nice but not the other.

hahahahah @ dipset being better than quik by a wide margin. DJ Quik worked on more classic records and did more for Hip Hop than the whole Dip Set collective. Top 10 diss song of all time, his own classic solo, production on classic albums.......fukking absurd, im laughing super hard for real. You can put Cam and Jim Jones albums together as one and they still don't have a better catalog than DJ Quik.

Let your fan boyism cloud your brain like @wackyd, brehs.

I think shyt that there's a hype machine behind is probably the main reason people catapult people to greatness undeservedly but I do think that location plays a role. But you often notice it's how big the people are rather than their quality and artistry. I'm glad I don't get caught up in any of that and can just judge the music off merit.

You're not making sense. I thought you agreed to discuss actual work then you went back to discussing fantasy shyt. My point is line up 3000's "Sorry" verse against the next man's verse and decide who's is better.

We're judging their rapping, no? And like I said, it's easier doing solo joints because you have full control over the project. Group albums take coordination and teamwork. Group albums are much harder so Andre should get more credit than these solo slackers.

That's BS..how is a group album harder when you have input from more people?:dahell: solo album is harder cuz u gotta come up with 3 verses and a hook all by yourself..this cat here...:aicmon:

Albums that originally received five mics:

Albums that were not rated upon their releases, but were later rated five mics in 2002:

Albums that originally received 4.5 mics, and were later re-rated to five:

Albums that originally received four mics, and were later re-rated to five:

WANNA KNOW WHAT BIAS LOOKS LIKE? iF YOUT HAVENT NOTICED,THE ONLY WEST COAST ALBUMS TO GET FIVE MICS,WERE EITHER ONE TIME RUTHLESS OR DEATHROW artists, they told the rest of the west coast, fukk em
Weak. The myth of Source bias was already debunked in my thread.
What across the board general consensus 5 mic west coast album didn't get 5 mics?

If every east coast album on the list was across the board celebrated in a 5 mics fashion, then i'd dignify this wiith a list. But since that's not the case,i won't.
But it's a fact that they ignored every artist unless they were once signed to ruthless or deathrow. That;s a fact,

It's also a fact that most of west coast albums on the list had to go plat or better in a timely fashion to make the list.

So tell me the east coast albums that weren't across the board celebrated as 5 mics...then tell me the west coast albums that should have got that 5.
