No city should foot the bill for a professional sports team.

Giants games are live as fukk, so I doubt the crowds will be that much different from Oracle to the new arena.
Yea...people round here do not enjoy that shyt...every time the squads come up short(virtually always) somebody starts groanin bout the stadium tax:damn:

But still, I wouldn't want chase involved with my squad...minor to some but fukk these banks:scusthov:.

Still, the crowds will be bananas but will the product be the same. Honestly, can the 49ers ever be great without a Candlestick Park:heh:...I dunno:jbhmm:?

i'm a warriors fan but this is whatever to me. the fans going to oracle will still go to the new arena. it sucks that oakland is losing a team, but the warriors are privately funding this so they can do whatever.

i think oakland made the right decision to not dump money into this. they have more important stuff to worry about than building a new arena that will get used maybe 70 times a year.

The city can't just implode Oracle to keep the Warriors. They wouldn't even if it was an option. They make money off Oracle and will without the Warriors, the Chase Center is privately financed which means the City Of Oakland won't make money off it besides property tax. It would make more sense to blow up Oracle and build a new Arena there if they was going to do that. Downtown Oakland isn't popping at all. I damn sure wouldn't pump a billion into a Downtown Oakland Arena.
if the dubs wanted to move to downtown/west o/jack london, it makes complete sense to use the two footprints out there for the A's and Raiders and build up a sports complex out there. you really think the coliseum is going to keep concerts with a better arena in SF? between smaller theaters making a comeback (paramount the fox) San Jo getting just as many concerts and outdoor concerts being mountain view, concord, and the greek theater...oakland will be ass out. that SF arena will get all the big tours, the weather is decent enough out here for oakland to rely on summer concerts to get utilization out of a new football stadium
