The sandbox genre is cluttered enough as it is, so it's safe to say that this game will be nothing special, and Ubisoft will eventually release a sequel that improves upon it in every way like they did with Assassins Creed, Rayman Origins, and, to a certain extent, the original Splinter Cell. GTA V was a landmark in gaming history that had simply too much hype behind it to the point where it was easy for people to hate on, much like GTA IV and how a lot of white people dissed San Andreas because they didn't get to play as a white boy that time around. Years from now, people will look back on GTA V and realize that it was everything they could've possibly hoped for, and then some. It's a masterpiece and rightfully considered one of the best games of all time after less than a year of being released. Going by Ubisoft's history, Watch Dogs will traditionally be a decent way to kick off a new franchise, but will let many people down in significant areas, ranging from repetitiveness, visuals, framerate, story, and characters. When the sequel comes out, it will be a great game for fans of the genre, but the first Watch Dogs will be average-at-best according to my calculations.
