But these kind off shows are really dependable on achieving cult status quickly.

yes, I don't have HBO either, and I used HBOGO to watch. it's actually been on HBOGO since friday.

I watched the pilot and this still wasn't funny. Pete Holmes is a terrible writer/comedian.

Just watched episode 2. It was much better, but it seems like Apatow falls in love with giving his friends' shows because Pete Holmes is clearly the weakest aspect of this show. Dude's just not funny. I start doing stuff when he's on screen and the comedians (Artie, T.J. Miller) are gone. I'm sure the main premise of this is him going from comedian's couch to comedian's couch, which I'm not sure if that appeals to me. I will check out episode 3 though.

first 2 episodes were hilarious and ingenious as fukk and i thought we were on the verge of something special but that 3rd episode was pretty bad. don't think i laughed once. hoping they actually have more up their sleeve and the show didn't already peak.

and i agree that pete holmes, while tolerable in small bits, is actually the worst part of the show. so i don't know how high the ceiling for this show really is.
