dougie was a wannabe social network. this is an old feature we had way back on the first version of the coli. its just been upgraded now, members can basically make their own invite only subforums

Is there a way to get alerts for when a new post is made or if a member joins or requests to join? I apologize if there already is and I just missed it
If the group is set to moderate new members you'll get an alert that they are requesting to join.
Alerts for new posts function the same way as they do in regular forums. You can watch the entire social forum you made using the link on the group homepage, or watch threads created in the group.

There's been some complaints about not getting alerts for messages in social groups. To receive alerts you have to go to your alert preferences and select "Replies to a watched thread"

We're having the developer of the feature make it so you receive alerts even if you don't have that box checked but it might take a few weeks to add so you can do this in the meantime if you really want alerts.

I now get this error after being invited to a group. " You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action." I used to be able to view this group & other groups but now I can't access the link in the OP nor the link from the invite.
the old groups have been disabled. if its an invite to one of those groups then thats why
