I havn't read the comics... but I've read the Preacher comics and while i thought that premier was solid it dragged in various parts. Thought this show was paced a lil better. This premier was way better than I thought it was going to be.. I guess Kirkland saved all his good writing/character development on TV for this show. First episode was a perfect balance of character and plot development.

The biggest surprise was Patrick Fugit tho... he killed it with the subtle performance. Character is ready to explode but he didn't over do it just gives you a glimpse of what he's holding back.
