College football games are more watched than the NBA by a country mile.

It's not about that, it's about the advertising dollars the NBA brought in with the audience that TNT could sell advertising space to. The average viewer for the NBA is younger and richer than football viewers. You see more ads for Benz, BMW, luxury liquor brands during NBA games than you do for football.

Let's not get crazy here..... this is not true at all. Football might have a bigger percentage of 50+ year old viewers than the NBA....but overall the 18-49 numbers for football be that college football or especially the NFL... dwarf the overall numbers of the NBA.

That's why the NBA contracts are not even close to the NFL...

Also, this is only the start. I imagine WBD will throw their money around in other ways if the NBA falls through. This idea that they are just going to show action movies 24/7 is probably not going to happen.

Breh look at the ads that run during NBA games...you see ads for foreign cars and Grey Goose, Casamigos, etc. These aren't brands associated with the average NFL viewer who tends to be from the midwest and the bible belt. They get ads for Bud light, GM, & Ford. More American centered brands that are more affordable. NBA even has an Emirates sponsorship now :russ:

The NFL has more viewers sure...but it's clear by who is advertising during NBA games, there is a belief that NBA fans have more disposable income.

Breh... I'm not disputing that... Rolex is a golf and tennis sponsor. But the actual ad dollars the NFL gets dwarfs anything else... Budweiser, McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Ford, Chevy... their money is super long...... look at their market caps.
