Silver probably doesn't even want Chuck on TV/Streaming going forward if he's going to keep saying shyt like this

Should be mad at Zas.
Inside the NBA always interviews Adam Silver on opening night. Can’t wait to see him squirm or if he just backs out altogether because Chuck will have zero filter the last year on TNT.
"Thank you for that question, Chuck. Let me start by saying how much I've enjoyed watching Inside the NBA over the years and since I took over as commissioner seeing the tremendous work you Ernie, Kenny, and Shaq do in addition to all of the wonderful folks behind the scenes has been a pleasure. Sometimes relationships run their course and unfortunately the NBA and Warner could not come to an agreement. I can't get into the specific for a number of reasons but I just appreciate of all the hardworking people involved commitment to making this the best year of Inside the NBA ever."
All of the big NBA media names do an extremely poor job at putting the game in the best light . Barkley ,Stephen A Smith ,Skip,Perk,Gilbert all have done and said extremely goofy shyt . Even guys that were once legit like Zach Lowe and Givony (draft shyt) have fell off
I think SAS gets a lot criticism as well, but this thread isn't about the ESPN coverage. I think if they fumbled their deal you'd be saying a lot of the good riddance posts. shyt, I was saying as much when it came out that SAS wanted to cover the NFL. Let him go ply his hsitrionics over there.

Givony fell off once ESPN hired him. I've seen people say Lowe fell off but he seems the same as ever. What do you think has changed?

I'd like for someone like Nekias Duncan to get a look. I think Hollinger is good too. I think it would be really easy to look at someone like Nate Duncan and think you have a star but he's a lot like Bomani in that he thinks he's smarter than he is, and the people that are fans of his also think being a fan of his makes them a lot smarter than they are. Him still platforming ESS never sat well with me, but all those bay area warriors coverage scumbags are pretty close. Also, Zach Harper is another smug cac that's terrible.

The Starters were doing non-controversial nba coverage and we called em corny
They were corny! They tried too hard to be funny. I've enjoyed the podcast they do about survivor waaay more than their NBA coverage.

Yall putting gas on this Barkley shyt .

Y’all sit up and act like yall want NBA coverage to be 30 minutes of “Thinking Basketball” type coverage :mjlol: ..yall don’t even watch that shyt now . The Starters were doing non-controversial nba coverage and we called em corny .

I hope Guys like Teague,Kenny Beecham and Melo get a shot somewhere in the new landscape .

Why do y’all always jump to this extreme when people critique Inside the NBA or Stephen A?

Is there not a happy medium between the Dunc’d On Podcast nerds and hot take artists that barely watch games?

Why is it that shows like NFL Live and College Football Gameday were able to find a balance between analysis and entertainment but y’all act as if it’s impossible for the NBA to do?

TYRONE GA!
that's what people get for bragging about how they don't need TV anymore and how all they need are these 2 services and I plug this in and it only costs me $30 a month or whatever. People were too loud about that and since apparently cable's too expensive, maybe those services thought y'all were eating too good and now they're coming back to collect.

Now I gotta sign up for Peacock, a service I didn't really need on top of 3 other services I'm paying absurd money to barely use. I don't even dig deep into their libraries. I'm the type to just turn on Pluto and let the Challenge play.

cut cords brehs.
All this fractured shyt so you can watch anywhere is goofy as hell

My prices aren't that bad tho

YouTube TV - 73 a month
Netflix - Free (T-Mobile Customer)
Max - Free (AT&T Fiber Customer)
ESPN Plus - 9 a month (one year for 109)
Peacock - 2.50 a month (one year 30 Dollar annual plan special)
Paramount Plus - Free (247 Sports Subscription)
Apple TV - Free (T-Mobile Customer)

Don't count Prime since I'd have that regardless (sure that's how Amazon cheated in their contract to prevent WBD from matching since every Prime member is a Prime Video Subsciber by default. WBD can't match that).

I am really hoping we can get to a new paradigm in nba coverage and get a bunch of empty blowhards out the paint.

IF I was the NBA and Silver I would be on the horn with all my broadcast partners and tell them slandering my product is a no fly zone

People say this but ratings for serious sports talk is in the basement.

Something isn’t adding up.

Because the off the court product is more entertaining than what's actually happening on the court.

A lot of people just don't want to admit it.

Same. I just have Forensic Files on in the background and I can use free options to do that.

That’s the uncomfortable reality

Even on this site, I’m pretty sure the thread about Damian Lillard getting traded to the Bucks got more posts than any Bucks game thread this past season

The NBA has an uphill battle

Because there isn’t anything that shows that NBA fans want that except talk.

The Starters was that and they got thrown in the bushes

Nobody talks about when Gil’s Arena breaks down defensive coverages and OOB plays (they the only ones that do this ) but the minute McCants or Gil says something goofy ..VIRAL

Paul George actually sits back and chops it up with close to zero problematic shyt and largely gets ignored .. same with The Old man and the 3 when it was in production.

Only the wild, loud low brow stuff gets traction online and on TV because that’s what Disney turned NBA coverage into with Skip and SAS leading the charge

The current landscape is a product of their creation in allowing that type of rhetoric, so I think it's too late to run it back. I remember years ago when Goodell use to put pressure on ESPN when their talent talked flagrant about the sport, yet you multiple entities doing it to the NBA on a daily basis and Silver says nothing.

At least the WNBA is self-aware enough to realize what it's trending towards and calling it out publicly even if it steers some fans away.

that’s the problem with these kind of guys. They believe they are the smartest guy in the room when most have never played ,don’t really fit the demographic of the NBA’s fan base and are boring . You can add Hollinger and Lowe to that list . Hollinger got a GM job, failed and is still smug . This is without an athletic background at a high level…so why should we pay attention to him ? Lowe was that dude when he was just focusing on ESPN writing the moment he started getting on TV he’s started to sound like just another talking head ..while being grumpy and not funny ..

Yeah Bomani is smug but at least dude can be entertaining

Bill Simmons smug as hell but he clearly has connections so you can deal with it

These guys are smug with little real basketball experience, boring and just know a little bit of math .

@Blessings , this is what I meant about him being unable to argue his original point so he creates a different one. It’s not how adults talk.

This is what I mean by getting embarrassed in Higher Learning and then trying to plot in the sports section and getting embarrassed again. :manny:

This is how a bitter old man acts...
