I dont think the line of credit was for 20B, but for the 6Bish upfront payment amazon had in the offer. The 20B figure in the article is the total value of the deal over 11 years.

Yeah after reading further, they did this to act like they gave an effort, make the NBA look like the “bad guys” for rejecting TNT, and then get some settlement money to walk away.
