I appreciate that critique because it’s informativeDope song bro, however the video a lil too literal for the type of song it is. IMO the video could be more expressive instead of literal, i.e. if the lighting is more directed (softer/more diffused, more dramatic lighting set-ups like split-lighting, etc.) and if there was more thought put into the specific scenes being shot. You don't have to do no acting scenes or nothing like that, just pick a location that looks cool on camera where you can control the lighting or shoot at a good time of day where the lighting is good (blue hour, golden hour, sunset/sunrise) and throw in some interesting props that relate to the vibe you're going for.
These are some examples of what I'm talking about
^Split lighting, half of him is lit and the other half falls into darkness
Softer lighting in general is gon look more professional

@ 2:18 in this video is a good example of softer lighting combined w/ a smoke machine to spread the light evenly around the room. A smoke machine on indoor shoots combined with a softboxed light source goes a long way towards making a more professional looking video. You can also see that they shot mostly wide because they wanted the video to be a little grittier and less commercial.
EDIT: If you don't got a budget to rent some lights, a softbox kit & a smoke machine then I would recommend shooting at magic hour/golden hour like I mentioned in the other post. Find a couple good locations and you'll be straight
I have the camera my brother shot it & I directed it & edited the footage. I been doing it this way 4 a few yrs if I had someone wit the passion 4 videography I could just focus on my craft because I have the equipment i just need the help
I thought about that haven’t set foot on a campus yet but I always felt like that was a good idea & ima really into thatHit up some film students at CCs and state schools in your area, a lot of them are hungry for regular clients. $300 is a good price point for labor for someone looking to build their portfolio, especially if they have access to school film equipment to where you don't have to pay for lighting rental, production insurance and etc. Also a lot of them got they own gear
How would u rate the video on a scale of one to ten?I like the song. Video I would is.... ok.
