I hate them more.
I hate them more.
OG Red Dawn was a classic though...
I don't think you understand the gravity of what you're saying.
A lot of people talk about how certain elements of capitalist consumer culture are propoganda, and try to find elaborate conspiracy-esque ways to prove it.
You don't need to prove shyt with Red Dawn. Not only is it propaganda, but it's such a blatant, unsubtle, utterly tasteless form of propaganda that even the USSR doesn't really have anything like it.
I mean, Rocky IV? Okay. I'll buy it. But not Red Dawn.
You're absolutely correct. I can only imagine the psych-op level of largess this new film will inflict on the psyche of the American public.
I think you're downplaying the effects and real fear of Communism at the time though. Luckily humanity can look back now on that era and see Soviet Russia for what it was.
For decades it the specter of nuclear annihilation hung over the world, I don't think that should be forgotten.
Oh, I'm not downplaying anything -- you can't really compare the level of intimidation between the systems.
But the fact that such an unsubtle film would, in statist Russia, be considered an affront to the intelligence of the audience, speaks volumes. Red Dawn made BANK in the states. And the fact that even one such perverse fukking film was made in this country to a great reception should make everyone very, VERY afraid. More afraid than any horror story about Wal-Mart or McDonalds.
This is REAL propaganda. Like, you don't have to put on a tin foil hat to understand it; here the fukk it is.
Cacs are so easy to program. Toy soldiers. White man trying so hard to get the rest of us on their page. They literally believe what they see on tv.
