Regular Rapper: “we was poor in the hood”

J Cole: “The bills is due, as kids we knew the way the calls would ring/ since mom ain’t paid em off, we trained to watch the names across the screen/ And let collections pass just like we failed to make an offering/gotta channel thoughts cause damn, the cables of it seems/“
In this case the regular rapper is better...

What even is that 7/16 structure... that's not a rock n roll song my nikka.

Not to shade Cole but I hope you realize this is NOT a good thing.

Cole needs a hit. He needs more than “he’s got potential” at 40 years old.

Either a solid album or body of work…OR …fukking hits.

Drake has both. Kendrick has both.

Cole aint even on Wale’s level with hits like that. I’m not talking about CUTS…i'm talking SLAPPERS. Cole has grammy’s for a few features. I’m not denying that. I’m talking J COLE HIT RECORDS. He’s lacking.

Cole has hits and better albums than drake what are you talking about

You realize, Drake could say this in like…40% fewer words right? Wale too. And it would still be fly and memorable.

Cole is fooling yall. I get it. It’s dope what he’s doing but this shyt is not ready for prime time. We like that he’s talking about the music business and anti-elite talk, but the skill is more in the delivery than the complexity of the rhyme.

Tell me you didn’t grow up poor/ lower class without telling me you didn’t grow up poor/lower class

:manny:
Cacs like Fantano and Rollingstone can’t relate
They don't have to relate...nobody is asking them to relate. Matter of fact, if you relate you can't judge the music.
