Nah bro. Cole needs a hit.

It’s more than a fanbase at this moment. Cole needs a “oh I’m outside” moment. He can’t do that with these “staring at my feet” raps.

Even Nas was still chasing a smash hit after solidifying himself as a project-window conscious rapper. Again, there are artists in their 40s winning Grammys and trying to compete. Cole isn’t immune from that. An artist of Cole’s stature can still get dropped. Dont act like Cole going independent wouldn’t be weird for him at this moment. Look at Jim Jones…you can’t be “in the mix” and not present in the game at the highest level.

WALE is coming. KRIT is coming…Even Big Sean knows he gotta pop back out. Wiz Khalifa is tuning up right now too. The entire West Coast is tooling up… Pay attention. Cole is trying to buy time and I think people are cool with him treading water but… they wont be patient forever.
Nas is not chasing a smash hit, what are you talking about. Making some songs you think women will like, as a legacy rapper =/= chasing a hit.

Nobody cares about KRIT, Wale, etc. Cole is one of the biggest rappers in the world and his fanbase is undeniable. He'll drop a single but he doesn't need a hit. He doesn't care and neither do his fans...they just want a dope album and a dope tour.

Lmao this is the most outrageous shyt I've seen in years.

Skill Kendrick > drake > cole BY FAR
I guess it depends on your criteria of skills. I’m looking at it in terms of technical rhyming and just bar’ing out. I have more examples of Drake and Cole doing that than Kendrick. None of it is “by far” unless your stan. I know it’s a crazy concept but I’m a fan of all 3.

Thats not even opinionated...Kendrick is probably the rapper that mastered every aspect of mceeing the most since Andre 3000. They're literally writing books about his techniques. Andre 3000 is probably the only other dude with enough depth for a 500 page-book.

Cole and Drake don't even know how to structure an smb, they don't even know the rules that make a flow good :comeon:

It is by far, unless your stan.

You'll never find a cole or drake verse as technically complex from a pure rapping standpoint as this right there, and that's not even a top 50 Kendrick verse, that's how far ahead he is.

Best metrical transference we have seen in rap.

OK, then admit Cole has plateaued.

This convo can end there, then. :francis:

Cole needs a hit song. IDK why you think he doesn’t want that.

Drake makes better songs than Kendrick bro per capita... I’m sorry yall let the lyrics and message cloud that…but just cause drake is money and hoes doesn't make what he does exactly cheapened or easy to do.

No he doesn't. Drake never got compared to Prince songwriting wise. That says everything you need to know. Kdot has a real musical composition comprehension. Drake just performs over an already made beat.

Cole and Drake dont have gang violence and extreme poverty in their backgrounds that they exploit for content and ad-libs… :francis:

Plus, drake COULD rap about life before acting with an absent father, but he chooses not to. If anything…Drake might have had a rougher upbringing than Cole did…but… I’ll spare yall the argument :sas2:
