U cats are dishonest af which is why it’s pointless to have debates.

And yet you're in every thread debating like you're gonna change anybody's opinion :russ:.....look man, I feel for you. I really do. You love the sound of rhyming words. I get it. And J Cole gets it too. Which is why he jingles those rhyming words in your face like you would jingle keys in front of a baby to calm them down. And that's awesome. I'm happy that J cole is able to do that for you. But at a certain point you gotta take off the diaper and put on your big boy pants. You gotta want more from your favorite artist. Want more from yourself.

The 2nd verse was a good start, but it's still not where I want Cole to be. He needs to slow it down and actually delve into these topics that he's rapping about instead of jumping from one topic to another because he's more concerned with showing the world how well he can rhyme words. I'm not dumbing myself down for anybody. Mos def "thieves in the night" is what I consider true lyrical greatness. That's the standard I judge every MC against. Which is why I'm not fooled by J Cole's wordplay gymnastics. Sorry if that offends you slugger :yeshrug:

Some of yall need to take a break from the internet. There are more important things going on than a rap beef in the world. That includes politics, and even exploitation in the same music industry that these artists make music in.

Yes, rap beef is highly entertaining, but its over and we should move on. At this point continuing to argue over it is making it purely into a minstrel show.

If ya would take some of this same energy into actual real world problems, like let's say real world problems even in the music industry like musicians not even having ownership of their publishing, a lot more could get accomplished.

Imagine if artists actually came together and fought on real issues? Rather than tear each other down over gossip over who's the best in a crabs in a bucket industry. And some of yall here are literally backflipping and continously beating a dead horse.

None of these mainstream artists, including cole and kendrick, aren't spitting that shyt needs to be really said right now in our political climate. Just enjoy the music if your not building up on anything positive

The H
cole has been quietly putting out some of the best raps since the beef. might delete later is such a good album but got overlooked because of him steppiung out of the beef then he dropped port antonio then this. he's killing it.

Might Delete Later is great, and to me evidence that Cole is actually hitting his peak. Want to see this version of Cole drop a full fledged album.

It didn't get overlooked...it wasn't good enough to be looked at as a good album from that year...

But I get it I get it, you gonna give me your opinion and explain to me how much you personally like it, it's fine bro. But it didn't get overlooked because of him stepping out of the beef, it simply wasn't considered good for what it was, as a body of work, from an actual artist.

that's fake news. it was consistently mentioned as one of the better albums of 2024 in the thread about drake saying hip-hop is having a down year.

you don't like cole and that's fine, but him dropping out the beef overshadowed a lot of what he has done lately. even when port antonio dropped people were dismissing it because of how he dropped out the beef.

Fake news...most people didn't feel it, most critics gave it a 4 or 5/10 (with a bunch of 1/10). Everybody knew it was there, but it wasnt good enough to be looked at at a good album from 2024

Reception was definitely mid. What a bunch of j.cole fans saying in a thread of a dead forum ain't really changing that lol. Some of the reviews it got were actually very negative. It didn't sell much, and as a whole it wasn't even mentioned as a notable project from the year of its release.

The fact that yall think “reviews” mean anything is crazy.

It’s all opinions and stan shyt, but somehow you think cause some cacs on the internet share your opinion it holds more weight.

On a straight up hip hop level Cole has been dropping some good stuff.

I don't care about reviews. Just reacting to someone saying it was well received, when clearly it wasn't, not well received by critics, not well received among the hip hop community, not well received by music fans either.

Reviews or not, whether people liked it or not, this is a below average project in my opinion. I don't need anyone to validate my opinion. On a straight up hip hop level, I'm not seeing anything good either.

But the fact you guys say it was well received and then get mad when proven wrong is alarming. Enjoy the stuff if you like it, but don't push fake narratives hoping it will hold more weight lol.

So don’t talk about all those other peoples opinions then :ehh:

For me, I don’t know how you can be a fan of rap and say dude ain’t been spitting but to each his own i guess :manny:
