The whole sales argument is fukking stupid in this day and age because it's no indication of how good an artist is.

But hey I'm living in a world where nikkas think Mr. Morale and GNX era Kendrick is a way better rapper than Section 80 and GKMC era Kendrick. I will never understand it:yeshrug:
Personally I think s80 and gkmc kendrick is the worst era kendrick, but thats my opinion, still classic though, but I hold recent kendrick to much higher regards:yeshrug:
he wasn't as good as a songwriter as he is now.

You need a perfect balance between being a good rapper and a good artist.

s80 is the consensus weakest kendrick's effort, for legitimate reasons lol.

And nobody wants s80 era kendrick,; we already got it lol, we want him to evolve and perfect other styles.

Now I want rock era Kendrick, which was rumored to come out in the late 2010s :whoo:

Edit: the sales argument ain't the only argument they have, these 2 albums ain't just commercially successful, they're also super critically acclaimed, praised, and enjoy, fans really don't have to rely on the sales argument.

Cole has hit records and ur saying he isn’t a good songwriter. Please go sit down somewhere.

He's def gotten better as a songwriter, specifically since 4YEO.

I expect kids and these fake streamer/social media people to hate on this shyt. But if you fukk with rap? This is dope. And the last verse prevents you from just dismissing it as a lyrical exercise. Do I want to hear a full album of technical raps? No. But like we said, a full album of concepts and dope shyt like this? Lets go.

If Cole was still on that super sensitive shyt he'd be trying to make a big record to reassert himself. Instead he said fukk that and focused on his pen. I respect it. And it sucks that a beef he shouldn't have been involved with in the first place is gonna prevent some people here from properly engaging with the shyt. It's dope. You're not gonna die if you admit it lol.

This board has fallen off so bad, nikkas don't even discuss the music anymore, just the politics around it

I noticed over the years, not just with this immediate battle, that there are far more fans that are only interested in the wresting story lines in Hip Hop and discussing artists' career moves, over actually discussing and appreciating the music.

some rappers did though? why not him, you're saying he's big like that

because even this recent drake project and gnx had anticipation for them being dropped. Cole just came out the blue and dissed kendrick and then dropped a half hearted mix tape along with it

I don’t get it either. Ain’t no way Kendrick is a better writer now than Sec 80/ GKMC/ era. It’s not even close. Mr Morale and GNX are significant steps down from where he was.
At least somebody agree with me

They can’t get over Cole folded like a little bytch. :russ: :russ: He spent two years daring rappers to step up to him, but when Kendrick answered, he backed down.

I said it a while ago. The people who were the most hurt by what Cole did were those who were tired of Kendrick and hated his success. They didn't like Mr. Morale, thought he was overrated, and wanted somebody to take him out. Cole was their champion. They believed all of his raps about being the best and when he bowed out, he embarrassed them. They were rooting for him, they were all rooting for him. They didn't like Drake that much and knew he couldn't do it. Cole was the only one with the status and skills to put up a challenge. Now, they're sick to their stomachs watching Kendrick become more famous than ever, having one of the greatest years in the history of hip hop.

Meanwhile, they feel like their champion bamboozled them, and they'll never get over it. Cole's not cool to them anymore and they need a new hero to look up to.

(Just for clarity, I haven't listened to the song yet and I love Kendrick and Cole. I'm just pointing out what I see from former Cole stans.)
