I havent seen any of these in years but I remember thinking the 90's one was the drizzlin shyts, worse than the Invasion even. Seemed cheap and corny...wasnt it on an army base?

Just like Hamlet, every generation gets their Invasion of the Body Snatchers. We're getting ours

‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ Remake in the Works at Warner Bros.

The 70s one is still my favorite but the 50s one is awesome. The 90s one is interesting and good but not on the level of the first two. And the less said about the Invasion, the better

So who should direct this? I feel like this movie is a layup for the time we're in now
With the fear of communism taking over the American way of life () the original film made sense for it being developed and was more impactful because of it, imo. The 70s movie was good but didn't have that underlining political/public fear base like the OG film which lessen my view it. I'm a history buff so little things like that goes a long way with me.

Yeah. '93 was the army base, starring Gabrielle Anwar and Forrest Whitaker and Meg Tilly were in it. I guess I'll put it on in a few.

Some trivia for you, Body Snatchers is a ripoff of The Puppet Masters...the book coming 4 years prior.

The 70s one was still the fear of losing yourself and all that bullshyt in the 70s about new age and self help and self actualization and everyone dealing with the fallout of hippie culture of the 60s. It was also a post watergate world so yeah

Watch them again

'78 is way, way better than '56.

Especially when you take into account that they were only 22 years apart. Meaning this new one that comes out will be further apart in time from the 90's version than the Sutherland one was from the black and white original. Huge progress.

I can kinda see that with the counter culture dealing with the aftermath of Nixon's and Ford's administration. Don't think Invasion of the Body Snatchers was the best film to convey that message.
