Godzilla Remake Officially Announced At Comic Con - CinemaBlend.com

Here's how it went down, according to our own Eric Eisenberg who was on the scene. It started with footage of a destroyed city, and voiceover talking about the Hindu proverb about Vishnu taking on his multi-armed form (you know, this guy). The voiceover specifically quotes Vishnu saying "'Now I have become death, the destroyer of worlds." From there we hear the iconic Godzilla scream, and it leads to a shot of Godzilla stomping through a cloud of dust. You see the spiked back, you hear the familiar thudding storms, and then the camera pans up the monster's face-- where, of course, it screams again.

Prior to the Godzilla teaser, footage was shown of Guillermo Del Torro's "Pacific Rim" and it completely blew everyone away in attendance.

then - unannounced - the Godzilla teaser was shown, and it made Pacific Rim look like if the reactions on Twitter are to be believed.

can't wait for BOTH of these flicks!

Isn't this the one that's was originally going to be in 3D? If so I'm mildly interested. Not a major fan of the Godzilla movies I liked some of the notable ones but they aren't the giant monster movies of choice for me. I do like that they are going back to the original Japanese roots of Godzilla instead of their own creation like that 1998 asscheeks version.

From what i'm reading today this is going to be a 'realistic' take on Godzilla/The monster movie genre and not so much sci-fi like the previous ones have been.

we'll see.

no lie....back in the day i actually LOVED the godzilla movie with matthew broderick...

but to keep it 100 i never seen it again after that, i dont even remember what year it came out...
