New York Mets pitcher Dillon Gee hospitalized - ESPN New York

New York Mets right-hander Dillon Gee has been hospitalized in New York, multiple members of the organization confirmed.

Manager Terry Collins, reached in Kansas City, said Gee experienced numbness in his fingers and was due to undergo an angiogram.

"They aren't sure what it is yet," Collins said.

A teammate said the issue was believed to be blood-related in Gee's shoulder. Another member of the organization said Gee was admitted to the hospital Monday and underwent an MRI.

Mets spokesman Jay Horwitz declined comment. Attempts to reach GM Sandy Alderson were unsuccessful.

A woman who answered the phone at Gee's parents' home in Texas said father, Kevin Gee, was en route to New York.

A call to agent Bryan Cahill was not immediately returned.

Gee, 26, is scheduled to pitch the Mets' second-half opener in Atlanta on Friday.

Blood in the shoulder? You juicing, Gee? :usure:

Na...hope it ain't cancer, a tumor or anything tho.

Blood Clot in his arm, if he's out an extended amount of time call Harvey up. I know he's not ready but I don't want to give up every 5th day with Batista or Schwindin

According to Adam Rubin if no set backs, the Mets could rearrange the rotation again, retro Gee's DL stint to 7/7 so he would be eligible to come off the DL on the 23rd only missing one start.

I think Harvey is ready. Supposedly he's made much progress this year. He has pitched very well at AAA as well.

Nats are already thinking of their feast :cook:

they wont do it though, because then his clock would start, and 40 man roster ramifications.

We're the NY Mets... we don't care about no damn arbitration clock :aicmon: By the time he's eligible we should be completely out of the Madoff cloud.
