Should the Mets trade Wright and/or dikkey ?

I say yes to both, both deserve better this and this team won't compete for the next few years especially with the upcoming weak free agent classes, not that the Mets are spending anyways. Outside of Wilmer Flores there are no bats in the system. And instead of going for ceiling they're drafting for signability. I don't want to see see another Jose Reyes situation regarding Wright but we all know it will play out exactly the same way. The Jewpon coupons will keep Wright to try and sell seats in another lost season, they'll be too cheap to sign him and find a way to blame it on him, the Mets end up with a crappy sandwich pick, and in Wright's return he'll be booed.

Oh btw I figured out why the Mets are choosing Duda over Ike. Ike is arbitration eligible in 2013, coming a 30 HR performace, he's doing for a nice raise. Duda is locked up through 2014 for 500K

Ruben is overrated. It's just the rest of the team has been so bad for so long that no one notices he is OPS'ing .688.
i didn't want to say it... but he absolutely is. young as hell though, so i have no problem with his as our shortstop

I already called this shyt.

As for trading Wright and/or dikkey .. I'm at a crossroads. I'm a MET fan first and foremost. I want what's best for the team. That would require both guys to remain on the team. I also feel the same way you do .. in the fact that they deserve better than what they're likely to receive in the next few years. I'm all for blowing it (completely) up and starting fresh, but that would require me having faith in the organization as far as drafting and free agency. Which I don't have.

If I had to lean a certain way .. send Wright to Boston/Anaheim/anywhere in the AL and find a home for dikkey too. Bring back talent, and let it all begin. Hopefully, after a year or two of shyttyness, the Wilpons would be tired of losing so much damn money from lack of fan participation, that they'll have no choice but sell the team.

totally different. Pirates and Royals have no fukkin resources. We're in NYC, and by all accounts should be competitive every fukkin season. it's terrible being a Mets fan... also, good call. next time im mad the mets score 1 run for dikkey, ill think "boy, at least im not a Royals fan" get the fukk outta here. you think people living in trailers in the US are thinking "at least i dont live in Rwanda" when they're eating their dogfood dinners? leave this thread fukkface.

Now that Harvey is done pitching this season, I only care for them to win dikkey's starts. Wouldn't even care if they lost all of the other games :heh:.

Higher draft pick :manny:. They better draft someone with some serious power potential tho :birdman:.

Point is too say they can never win or compete is fukking dumb, they were a break away from getting to the world series and probably winning it 5 years ago

Are Royals and Pirates fans embarrassed off the field year in and year out ?

Did they have an owner go broke in the biggest ponzi schme in history ?

Or have a GM accuse a beat writer of lobbying for a job ?

Or have an assistant GM challenge AA players to a fist fight ?

Or have that same assistant GM call out players for being soft only for those players a week later be put on the DL for the rest of the season ?

Or have an owner publicly bad mouth his best players ?

Do the Royals and Pirates play in the biggest market in the world and are operated like a minor league team ?

Even the Pirates and Royals would trade away their best players and get something back for them. At least they have been spending in the draft.

Do Royas and Pirates fans have some of the most expensive seating in Baseball ?

Do the Royals and Pirates share a city with not only the most successful team in the Baseball but arguably all of N.American sports ?

And the last time the Royals won a WS was in 1985 a year before us. And since the Pirates last playoff appearance in 92 the Mets have made the playoffs a whopping 3 times since. Yeah we're really taking our success for granted :stopitslime:

6 years ago, and that was their only playoff appearance in the past 10 years. go through all the major sports. that's a terrible ratio no matter how you slice it.

In my lifetime the mets won a WS, but i was 2. they've made the playoffs 4 times. 3 times since ive been in to baseball. 2 times as the WC.

that's horrendous. they are a NY team. i mean the knicks have been a huge flop, but at least they had a stretch where they were a big team.

Just take last night for example.

best pitching prospect we've had in a decade in his last start of the season. the team has 4... count em, 4, wins at home since the AS break. He cruises against a division rival. 2 outs in the 9th, our promising lefty reliever (the only one we have... replacing our overpaid closer) gets ahead of Utley, and walks him. He sets to throw to Ryan Howard, he of the balky leg, and .500 ops vs. lefties this season... and surrenders a 2 run bomb... they lose.

that shyt happens ALL THE fukkING TIME. there's no way shyt like that happens to the Royals as much as the Mets. sure, they're bad, and they've been forever, but the mets don't just lose, they stomp on your ballsack with golf cleats.
