I think both sides are trying too hard and not being genuine. Many things can be true:
1: Drake has LOST. And the fact he went this route after taking such a drubbing is such a sad and pathetic sign.
2: The song IS a hit. Ratchet anthems over great production. If you know music you know the parts that people will sing along to outside. On not like us a minor and wop wop wop. On this, the way she starts off singing off key is made to be catchy/go viral/tik tok. However…
2b: it’s a hit that 1000% does not need Drake on it. As evident by the fact Chief keep was the original feature. And the bbl drizzy part is tryhard and corny.
2c: When you’re an artist who RELIES on popularity like Drake, people can simply not fw you anymore bc it’s not ‘trendy’. So something like tik tok that’s a haven for dikkriding and popularity contests, if Drake is seen as not cool then people wont make those tik toks and it won’t ring off.
So this beef clearly has put a huge dent in Drake’s appeal. This beef has been a DISASTER for Drake
