Everything you just typed is mad inaccurate.
You’re hurt. I get it. But crying over Drake’s bad deals ain’t gonna change anything. They're still robbing dude today. 1/4 of his publishing and royalties still goes to them. Because dude signed an indefinite agreement with them. Which means it's not ending, until they sell the rights back to him. Which they aren't doing anytime soon.
He's also kicking 40% to UMG today, as the sub with OVO. Only thing he's out of, is his recording contract with Baby. But Baby is still eating off of his publishing. Those were two different deals. So after Views, Baby was pocketing royalties and not splitting those with the labels. Which is why he was sued. I know this because I was at UMG when he inked. What Drake didn't understand, was that just because he's not recording under the CM umbrella, that doesn't mean all of his rights go back to him. Those deals are all very separate. This is why Ross told Drake to help Baby get out of foreclosure. Because even with the millions he makes off of Drake's publishing today, that's not gonna help him with the wild debt he still needs to recoup on.
So this fantasy "leverage" you keep posting about, doesn't exist. UMG and Republic helped him to clear his deal with CM and YM. Millions he owed Baby. Now he has to pay those same millions back with interest to Republic, while also kicking 1/4 to Jas and another 40% to the parent company, which is UMG again. So, you can believe what rappers say about their deals all you want. None of them tell the truth about what's really going on. But enough people in the business talk about dude having "one of the worst deals ever" for you to know what's been going on by now. I've been in the room, I can speak to it. Or you can go with the fantasy. That's on you.
He could’ve used you back in ’08-’09 before he inked up with those people. You could’ve warned him then. LOL!!
