How do you guys feel about these proposed talking points? Would it work? If so for whom? Will it backfire?

Or they could just do things to help the American people and actually talk about it and communicate how they’ve helping nationally

I don't disagree with this. But the average voter is pretty stupid and resonates with emotions. Republicans are masters are stirring peoples fears and emotions. If Dems could you fear, while also getting shyt done that would be a win.

They already use fear. Dem leadership and establishment love the Culture Wars. McAuliffe lost his campaign saying "Trump is coming back."

Eh, they don't use culture war anymore than Republicans. Republicans complain about stupid shyt like Dr. Suess and Christmas.

I know, and Dems like to show they are more intelligent by attacking that. They both like it because it distracts from policy talk.

Or they wear Kente cloth and kneel. Its all culture wars.

Which gets back to not allowing Republicans and the media control the conversation. Because it will always be hyper right wing if they allow it

Thats true. Most of talking points in the video center around policy issues.

I finally watched the video after my meetings. I don't have a problem with it, but it isn't talking about policies and what Dems will do.

But I do agree that using language like poison about the environment could work. The problem is many elected Dems are in bed with the same monsters.

Of course Democrats should help people but that alone isn't gonna do it.

Every Republican administration in my lifetime has been in office at the start of a recession. Every Democratic administration has gotten us out of one. Not a single Republican administration in the last 30 years has created more jobs than a Democratic administration. All that and voters still trust Republicans more on the economy, by a nearly 20-point margin.

And before anyone brings up messaging, that alone won't do it either when the media bends over backwards to play #BothSides.

The video talks about creating bombastic rhetoric to counter the Right Wing

Won't make a difference.

What Dems need is something to counter FOX News and Facebook. Until that happens nothing else matters because their talking points, whatever they are won't be heard.

Above the fray.

Against it. I think Republicans have been baiting Dems into engaging in this type of messaging.
The lower it gets, the less it becomes about laws, votes, and policies. Plays fight into Rep hands, because they've demonstrated that there is no level that they won't stoop to. You can't out -WWF the element of Republicans who have been shooting wrestling promos for close to 40 years now.

The suggestion about immigration messaging was used about Syrian refugees before and most recently about Haitian refugees at the Texas border. Outside of a group of people who leaned in that direction anyway, not sure that many voters care.

That would backfire so hard. The media would universally shyt on them under the guise of 'holding them accountable.'

Meanwhile they regularly platform the same Republicans who pushed the Big Lie and don't even ask them about it. Or they'll handwave right wing rhetoric like, "Yeah, Republicans overexaggerate about CRT and it's not even taught in K-12 schools, but something something Dems in Disarray™. :manny:"
