After 4-5 listen I'm really diggin the album DG continues to find new sounds every album, I love the experimental push on the boards flat lander getting his shine on:obama: I only wish we had more mc ride on the record, overall I like it alot, completely blindsided by this shyt. And not to mention the videos:ooh::whew: I can't wait to see the film Zach hill is working on, I wonder if any tracks will be on the soundtrack. Like always I'm blown away and can't wait to see where these guys go next.

This really felt like a lander project with less Ride....I'm shocked at the sound of this album, I like it though,...every one of Death Grips projects sound completely different, it just makes me wonder what's next

Gotta give it more listens to see where I would rank it among there previously projects

Never heard of them, put me on brehs (albums or singles you recommend)

Alright so I would recommend their entire discography so far, no joke they are that consistently good, and I think it adds to the understanding of their music if you listen to it in chronological order, and hear the progression in their sound/lyrics. However thats essentially 4 albums, exmillitary being their debut mixtape, so if you want to just jump in and hear one album I would recommend the money store, which everyone considers their most accessible record.

Exmillitary -

More sample based sound and high chaotic energy
- Good singles from mixtape, also death grips probably has the most creative/innovative videos imo.

The Money Store

More focus on innovative dense beats with all kinds of distorted sounds, some more subdued tracks like the opener get got, but still high energy for the most part
- Good singles from album

- easily their most accessible song

NO LOVE DEEP WEB
Stripped down beats, focus on drums and mc ride vocal

- Good singles from album
music starts at 8:48

Government plates
latest record, focus on crazy experimental beats, more sampling, and less focus on lyrics and vocals

- Good singles from album

I've been spinning this non-stop since I got it, and I finally got around to asking myself that question...and I'm not sure that I'd even want to think of it like that. The sound, the composition of the songs, everything is so different that, at times, it feels like this album is a completely different genre from the other three. Not a lot of rapping, wild shifts in sound, rhythm and even time signature in every song...it's just a completely different record.

I love it though, even though certain critics seem to be poo-poohing it...

Yea I'm to the point of telling myself not to judge this album compared to there other albums.......It goes HARD, its loud, I like it.....its prob a great album for the gym

I do understand why critics aren't raving over it though, but I never really cared about what a critic had to say

It definitively is shyt gets me on beast mode, The first 3 tracks gets me insanely hype. This is the first time I've been active during the release of a DG record, now I have a positive outlet to release energy on. I remember when NO LOVE DEEP WEB dropped:ohlawd: I would just fukking pace my house in a rage with my headphones on ready fukking:bustback:

Hi brehs,

I enjoyed Exmilitary a lot, so much energy :wow:

"You need to vibrate hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer":whoo:

I thought No Love Deep Web was average tbh, didn't really like The Money Store on my first listen either but I'm planning on going back to listen to that again to get a better opinion on it.

I haven't given Gov Plates a proper spin yet. I remember playing Birds for the first time with my girl and we were a mixture of :ohhh::dwillhuh::gladbron::ahh::noah::dahell:
