Don't want to be too hard on the team since it was the first game of the season, a lot of new faces starting and key players were out. I'm glad that CJ was able to settle down and get rolling in the 2nd half. Henderson looks like the real deal and he will get more playing time very soon. We had some young pups that were thrown into the fire and they had some lumps but managed to do a ok job with the situation at hand. I was disappointed with the d-line not getting a lot of pressure on the QB and missing tackles. I know that Minny has a special back but the coaches recruited the best talent to minimalized shyt like what ol boy was doing. Have to work better on wrapping up in practice next week. Overall, it's better to have a game like this earlier in the season to see how they handle pressure and when shyt doesn't go their way. Shows grit and character and they step it up. Only have room to improve when the Ducks come into Columbus next week. O-H!!!
Yeah I was just thinking that playing a team like Minnesota on the road to start the season and get this under our belt is big. If we played Akron or Tulsa we would have learned nothing.

I will say the game played out damn near exactly like the last two road games to start the season in 2015 against Virginia Tech and 2017 against Indiana. Close for the first half, then big plays to explode and take over the game in the second after settling down.

A lot to digest.

I told people at my watch party Stroud needed to settle down in the second half after they declared him a bust after 2 possessions.

Trey…. :wow:

Olave and Garrett :wow:

Not much said about us running out damn near an entire freshman secondary and they played great.

Minny’s best game was their line and run game and they had one good run and a little bit here and there.

Overall, covered the spread with so many out and showed our explosiveness. And I have to see the roughing the passer call again.

Linebackers gotta play better and dbs need to turn their heads and look for the ball. My 2 biggest concerns from the game

Osu is continuing to be the leading employer of white LB’s, and what’s crazy you never hear anything about them, they just end up on the squad and starting, PJ lost a lot of talent so his initial punch was all he had, his plan was to lean that 6’6 300 plus line on y’all and when y’all started stoning them there was no counter, the rain helped and hurt you all as did Minnesota. On a lot of those runs, if the qb actually kept the ball he’d be butt naked for 15 yards. Can everyone relax on stroud first start, on the road, and it’s raining, i think he will be ok, long as the game doesn’t get away from him, i can see how he may struggle if he can’t operate in the system, a lot of his best throws came when he had 4 plus seconds that will not be the case in a few weeks when you play some teams with a pulse, and a DLine, that tackle only OL is going to be an issue too, but that run game is tops, and the young secondary did decent even though they really didn’t get challenged. Final thoughts, i can see you all leaning on the run game, there will be a few games you guys slide by, if a teams going to get y’all it will be this year, your LB’s and youngins in the secondary will be an issue in weeks to come

you all won’t know much til you play a team that can actually contend, you all’s overall speed helped a lot

It was a a talent discrepancy, so let’s temper that until you play a team with a pulse or at least some east opponents

Or as usual, people underrate the B1G like this Minny team wouldn't go in the SEC and spank a few teams not coached by Nick Saban, just like they did last year. THE Buckeyes did what they were supposed do and handled business. Got the dub, fucc'd a few bytches they picked up from The Mall of America and bounced. On to Oregon. :umad:

Stroud is raw but the talent is there. I trust Day to bring him along. Day the real QB whisperer, not that trash up North. I'll withhold judging the D too harshly til we get some starters back and see how they gel after a few games together. Im still holding on to faith in Red Bull Coombs.

It’s always a talent discrepancy . 100 on your scUM head in November :birdman:

Lies

that team last year and year before, yes, this one nope, them boys are ridiculously slow, effort will only get you so far, the thing about it the speed came into play on things just working out not necessarily something brilliant, we will see in the coming weeks what’s the deal

people are overreacting on stroud, but i don’t anticipate him being able to make plays like you all are used to, and that may make y’all antsy, but if y’all keep plugging away something will pop due to you all’s talent, but you all won’t get challenged much truth be told. Idk on the whisper part, fields came into the game with hella talent, the system fit his skills, Haskins can’t get out of his own way but again natural talent was there. As for the defense like i joked with Smitty them white LBs gon be the death of y’all, that front 4 looks solid, but they really ain’t get challenged, same with secondary, but getting them other boys back will help

You can’t name one player on offense for Oregon.

Nope.

But I know ya'll looked like dookie.
And I know ya'll played against a slow ass D.
And I know Oregon's got a lot more talent on offense than Minny.
And I know that Minny could've pulled that game out if ole boy didnt tear his achilles. He was running all over that 5 star infested DLine of ya'll.

Am I lyin?
