finally a street record not all that bullshyt house from this chic.
improvement over the house stuff,...
although it flips a bunch of phrases heard before and kinda lifts some sauce money wordplay on the melody hook.
i like this for a more street female rap record for banks.
now,..i have heard her over some realer shyt,..now we can hear her foow is just another standard stock overprocessed fox lifts biggie shyt, like any typical ny chick.
yet it is pretty good,...for what is out of the present visable major label act like an underground act work they have been trying to fool everyone and fwil at.
anyway,..better outing for banks and finally a street record not a house record that samples the most sellout record they could find.

her sonic direction is santogold allday.
mixed with predictable lil kim/foxy/femalebiggie/jigga/jiggy rhymes delivery.
same ol' same ol' for a-typical but polished ny female street rapper.

I think its more the fact that with female MC's, Foxy has some of the best bars, I'm not trying to hear anything about being ghostwritten or anything but Foxy could spit her lungs out when she wanted to and thats where a lot of emulation comes from.

if she had more high quality street based records.
i would be sold completely on her.
yet i have to wait and see. they bait and switch so much with these new artist.
you just have to let it play out. especially if she is commercially infused.
so, i am still on the fence about getting fully behind banks.
her personality as a free spirit is addictive in her music.
so she will get you smitten from listening to her cause hey you don't meet chicks this cool randomly.
banks may lift from santogold but santogold was that much cooler and dope because it was her own original urban euro street thing.
it also did not lean so hardcore on house.
once santogold got going to show her full artistry.

well foxy had presence and vocal toneality very early in in her teens as early as fourteen to fifteen.
so she was advanced for a female rapper.
she just was given so much high quality top shelf writing.
she did not have to evolve or make her skillset better on her own and never did.
that is what hurt her as over the years,..she became reliable on a certain type of writer to work with.
instead of developing a skillset that could draw that was her own.

the thing is, bear in mind that I'm not from where she grew up, but maybe the street element of her is just one of her number of attributes.
plus, given that chicks her age with her interests (assumed from her few tracks and videos) vary vastly and she assumes, rightly so, that her code-demographic are the hipster-esque crowd, which she isn't wrong on.
to expect something as street as foxy or kim or rage from someone like this is unrealistic, but she does have it in her.
santo was fresh as very few artists had even attempted that style before her, but she opened that lane for these girls and IMO it's refreshing to hear this on the radio than the usual BS.
