Did not like this song at the time. But it was definitely a hit. I remember thinking that Ice Cube was starting to sound like an old man. He wasnt even 30 yet :francis:

With the exception of those two discs, Cube never released any projects even close to bad.

Everything from that point on in his solo career was pretty damn good, and obviously everything before that point was GOAT level, including The Predator and Lethal Injection.

Yeah the Don Mega gimmick was kinda weird but you can tell Cube just didn't give a fukk

I mean would you if your movies made you wayyyyyyy more money than music did

I remember being so hyped over Cubes comeback......This was the first single and I wasnt really feeling it but you know how it is when its someone u really like......u assume it will grow on you......Nov 17, War drops....I copped that and Tical 2 the same day but the first thing I threw in the car cd changer was that War disc.....not gonna lie...the way the album opens up makes u think we in for either a Death Certificate or maybe a Preditor type of album. I'll say around the 7th spin I finally concluded that the album was eh! (was in denial for the first 6 spins) I chalked it up to Cube making up for it when the Peace disc finally drops....and that didnt happen either.

Album did have some cuts tho...Pushing Weight wasnt one of them.

Pushin Weight was one of those for me though

I too was disappointed with this album when it dropped, and this was the beginning of the end

I did recently revisit this album, and I was surprised by how dope the production was. It was the nonsense Cube was spittin (outside of a few tracks)

Those beats should've gone to a Short Khop solo

Along with Ghetto Vet, these are the standouts from that album:

Pushin Weight was alright. :ld:

Cube had to have sold his soul to Satan, because I swear at this exact point he became the corniest, wackest rapper around. :mjcry:

Ghetto Vet was a last glimmer of hope though and Laugh Now, Cry Later had a FEW cuts. but still....:mjcry:
