Are yall talking about shows like Law & Order and CSI? Because with shows like that, a lot of times they feel like one off episodes that loosely tie into some of the events that happened in previous episodes. Because of that each episode feels kinda sorta fresh, that is if you like that particular show and it's premise. So for me, the format isn't a problem. I will say that I wish Game of Thrones was 30 minutes longer per episode. Maybe it's just me but though I love the show, after every episode I feel like they should have had more time. I'm never satisfied. It's really one of the only shows I feel that way with. In general though, I don't care if the season is 8, 10, 13, or 24 episodes. As long as it fits the show.
