Netflix Shows trying to be inclusive is great, but unrealistic and kind of goofy sometimes.

I’m watching this movie called Senior Year and colors of the characters is all types of unrealistic. I’m glad actors of “color” are getting jobs, but sometimes the ethnicities of characters be throwing me off. Why not just green light more black shows instead of sprinkling people if color in situations that are completely unrealistic.

The rival to the popular blonde haired/blue eyed girl is Asian. Word? :francis:

A black gay dude is part of the cheerleading squad. :heh:

The popular girl’s best friend is a nerdy black dude. It only that but her dad loves him and he was just all up inttheir house having breakfast with the dad and the dad is like “why don’t you ask my daughter to the prom?”
:comeon:
The High School is supposed to be your typical Suburban school, but the student body is evenly divided across race. I have never witnessed this IRL. :mjlol:

And it looks like they grabbed the first Polynesian guy the could find and made him a principal.

The year 3030
what was even more goofy is rebel Wilson fit into her HS clothes being a grown ass woman

at least they didn't try to pair her w/ a HS guy, cause they played up that "I'm really 17 in the head but 37 in age" angle

eh, Does it have to be realistic? It's fiction and entertainment. High school for me was never like it was portrayed in film and tv. I remember my friends being disappointed by that lol

This is a major reason Netflix is failing
Netflix is failing because they're casting more non-White people?

Main reason Netflix is failing because they are charging damn near $20 per month, making it harder to share accounts, cancelling the good shows they have, and the streaming market becoming a lot more crowded and competitive.

I’m not saying it’s wrong. Happy for the black actors getting a shot, but it’s kind of goofy.

I’d rather they green light more black shows.

That isn’t simply what the op was saying about the unrealistic diverse fIlms…and neither was I. You came to your own conclusion to rant about.

no, they're failing due to increased competition and loss of content without their own content to stand on.
That content they can’t stand on are their unrealistic diverse films they’ve over invested in so yea, it’s what I said, now what :stopitslime:

Whatever nikka, if you want flicks with more interest in having a rainbow of diversity over realistic and compelling story lines have at it…. It’s not my fault they can’t bring you INTELLIGENT diversity along WITH gripping realistic story lines

Nah man you wylin and sounding suspect rn. If Netflix has a problem with diversity it's the fact that they keep buying wack inclusive content - whether for black people, gays, women, whoever - in order to create a large library of shyt instead of being concerned about whether something is good or not. So you get these cheap, weird movies or shows that feel like someone wrote them based off tweets. That's the problem.

Having diverse casts of actors in various shows isn't a problem and the only people who genuinely notice or get mad at that shyt are white people. You're not talking about shoe horning black people into some movie set in an era where they likely wouldn't be black people. This thread was talking about a...high school movie...with a diverse cast. Ehhhhh.
