Even if you want to believe Steve committed his crime, the state certainly didn't prove its case beyond reasonable doubt. There was no concrete evidence to convict Steve and I'd have to jump over a lot of hurdles in my mind to believe he did this without a doubt. I believe the initial jury count was 6 not guilty to 3 guilty, and the 3 managed to some how sway the other 6, based on what, I have no idea.
The most damning piece of evidence the state had was the edta testing that basically killed the notion of the blood being planted, but even the FBI dude was so much of an idiot that if I was on the jury I would have disregarded the entire test. How is he on the stand gonna say without a doubt he knew no EDTA would have been found on swaps he didn't test. Breh was trying to be so adamant about that, that it just made him look silly.
