Netflix has benefitted from Marvel, but I highly doubt Disney will re-up on Luke Cage, Darefevil etc. And if they do, it wont be the same because actors will change etc.

I doubt ppl will cancel immediately, BUT they do need to start putting together better stuff, not just quantity.

That $6.99 price tag won't last long imo. Its all about subscribers. Netlflix has 149 million subs worldwide. HBO has 140 million. Amazon 100 million. Hulu only has 28 million to this day. Disney+ is coming into the streaming game late as fukk. They need to to hit 70 million or so subs first before they can talk that shyt if you ask me.

Here’s a list of the five highest-earning movies of 2018:

  1. Avengers Infinity War
  2. Black Panther
  3. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
  4. Incredibles 2
  5. Bohemian Rhapsody
All except Jurassic World are Disney productions. Clearly, Disney is king of the blockbuster. Over the past six years, its average film has raked in $1.2 billion at the box office.

all that Netflix original content better pan out or it's a wrap. They'll probably have to be a production company

But you are comparing Apples to Oranges

Netflix is providing on demand content at home for a subscription customer = continuous monthly revenue

The movies you mentioned are for people who are going to watch a movie in a theater = one time or single serve revenue

Those movies are all great. But at 140 million subscribers x $10 a month, Netflix is making/projecting different money. If you are basing it JUST on these movies (which I understand that Disney+ will be more than movies :whoa:) Netflix is putting out Black Panther's Worldwide numbers every single month.

Don't get me wrong, Disney is a juggernaut and can afford to treat streaming as a loss leader ( Disney is Treating Streaming as a Loss Leader - Market Brothers Media ) so I'm not saying Netflix will be better than Disney. I think they are catering to two different audiences.

What people don't realize, or rather don't mention, is that Disney+ coming about doesn't mean people will inherently drop Netflix entirely. They aren't competing for a time slot (like a movie). Lots of people, myself included, have subscriptions to several networks. The 6.99 a month for Disney+ will be an addition to what I subscribe to, not the decision to all that I subscribe to.
