I feel the same way which is why this is intriguing. It doesn't feel like he's playing Aziz in this.Yeah Aziz started with a spark but now he's very meh.

aziz ansari
Dude seemed more subversive/irreverent when he first dropped. Relationship comedy is like the exact opposite of that. Unless the reviews say this is fire I will most likely skip. Too much good shyt out there to watch to waste time on mediocre.I feel the same way which is why this is intriguing. It doesn't feel like he's playing Aziz in this.
nah you have always seemed like a hateful little twat from the sohh daysI'm sorry did I hurt your feelings or something?

Has potential. Didn't like his last few stand ups but this looks very Louie inspired.
are you being serious with this post? he's a first generation indian american... i can't think of another person with his perspectivenot every comedian is suited for a Curb your enthusiasm/Louis style sitcom.
Although he's funny, Aziz Ansari just lacks a truly unique perspective.
Comedians like Louis, Larry David, Patrice O'neal, Bill Burr, Cosby, etc got the depth and originality to make shows like these work.
This series seems like a generic "artsy" rom-com but with Aziz's wacky social observations.
Still going to give it a try tho. I'm rooting for him.

the rapper who?You mean like the rapper Heems? who's also getting a similar show...
Anyways It's not strictly about the source.
That's just ridiculous,
How many sitcoms have successfully reflected the experience being African American with depth?
....The boondocks? Cosby show? Blackish?
How many shows have tried?
Dozens.
How many sitcoms have been made about white people?
How many of them have the depth of Seinfeld?
Most professional writers can come up with the themes shown in the trailer.
It's nothing really new
"Indians are classically unattractive"
"the first generation immigrant experience is an unending struggle between retaining your unique ethnic identity and the pressures of cultural assimilation."
"that struggle is played out in conflicts between disappointed parents and disillusioned children"
"Millennials can't commit to relationships or adulthood"
Yo this Aziz Ansari dude is the Indian Woody Allen.
