This is always sad when I think about it. I was in 3rd grade when it happened and it was a big deal around the country. The teacher Christie Mccaughla(sp?) was going into space. I had never known for there to be any black astronauts at the time so that was a shocker to me as well. I'll never forget the principle coming over the intercom to tell us that it had exploded because our teacher had forgot to take us to the library to see it(i heard it wasn't live). Later that day she took us to the library and that was the first time I had ever seen someone die on tv in that era.

Never saw this doc but I remember being little when this happened. I was actually in class (2nd grade I think) and when that shyt happened all of the teachers were crying and I remember being confused. I didn't quite understand what was going on back then until later on when my mother picked me up from school and was in tears as well. I need to watch this tonight.
