Why do you think the owners colluded to keep Kap out?
I feel you are being either disingenuous or not trying to have an honest understanding - but I could be wrong, so I will respond with zero emotion:
Preface as usual: I know a lot of people personally in a lot of places, particularly sports and entertainment, which is documented here already.
If this was Vick or Cam, they would be in the NFL. The owners and coaches would've signed the player, and I really don't think its debatable from my side of what I KNOW that Vick is STILL MORE HATED then Kap.
To be honest, the problem isn't about people hating Kap, or specifically white people and fans and etc - it's that they really don't care, and yes there is a contingent that does not like him, but it's not heated behind the scenes like Vicks issue.
Now the problem is Kap was not considered that great of a QB by the time he opted out, before the kneeling. You can send stats and press releases and highlight tapes, but I can only tell you the 100% truth. He would've been signed by a team, but would've been in heavy competition mode, so he would've been a backup for a ok/good team, or a starter for a bad team, a la Tyrod Taylor - maybe he would've gotten back to SB mode, but wouldve/couldve/shouldve isnt what I am here to debate.
Coaches do not want players (a few may, but head coach makes decision, and GM either overrides him or makes decision as well, who runs it past ownership - so no telling on each team who made the choice) that are borderline to not really a starter, but bring world news with them, and Kap is a world story. Tebow had the same effect - With no TebowTime, he is in the NFL for 3 more years at the shortest.
Sorry that there is no more to it, and hell yea there were likely owners that said "We don't want that guy F him", but thats life. There are a lot of coaches that didn't want him anyway, and there were a few that were overridden, and a few that was gonna sign but didn't like what happened (The Ravens & Dolphins stories are real, whether you and I agree or not.)
It's a weird situation, and if he was Cam or Vick he would be playing, but - no real answer. Keep trying to save the culture and keep trying to play QB.
If it's me, I say go to another league, ball out and make the fans clamor to see you do it back in NFL, a la Ricky Willams. The downside is, you look bad and they can use that as an excuse that you suck, so hes playing a dice game. But in NFL - FACT - perception everything, and those meetings they say the man - this guy isn't THAT great to have picket lines "saying get him off your team" and other billboards saying "Start him NOW or you are racist".
I heard a lot behind the scenes, not for me to say, but here is a public comment from Tyranne Mathieu before the kneeling thing went big:
"In an interview with Mike Florio on PFT Live (h/t Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith), Mathieu discussed Kaepernick's regression as a player: "I've had the chance to play against Kaepernick the last four seasons. The first couple years he was a winning quarterback. He did a lot of good things for his team. The last couple years, obviously, it felt like he took a step back as far as game-planning against him.
We knew going into this game that the focus for them was to run the football. Their passing game has just simplified so much, it was easy for us to anticipate routes, get some good breaks on the ball today."
Now, he has changed his tune a little bit since everything went major, to support the man as a black man who kneels for rights, but the above is how players and coaches felt about him before. Now its:
"I'm rooting for him, and I hope somebody gives him a call, somebody gives him a shot. He's a hell of an athlete. He definitely can play quarterback in this league, and if he plays in the right system, I'm pretty sure he can take any team to the Super Bowl."
