Ok nikkas gotta stop talking like Drake put Future on wtf???

Future had multiple hits from 2012-15

DS2 was on fire before What A Time To Be Alive was a thing

Again this is why Drake aligns himself with nikkas because he knows nikkas are gonna retroactively say Drake put them on despite them already having a career/hits/buzz prior

It works or worked both ways the other guys benefit from having a Drake single and Drake gets a different sound.

What does that have to do with anything?

I see that you're wasting my time. Just admit you weren't around back then and keep it moving.

Nelly wasn't pushed like that until AFTER he exploded. If you were cognizant, you would know that Nelly selling out the gate the way he did, was a shocker. That's the opposite of ludacris' entrance. There's articles and newsclips in real-time that you can search out, which will tell you the same thing, kiddo.
To add deeper context nikkas really don't know or remember the landscape of the year 2000 for hip hop

This was a year dominated by Eminem who was breaking sales records and had all the attention

Country Grammar single not being pushed till after it blew up is facts. That shyt played all of 4-5 months on BET/MTV to crickets. Then one day in the middle of the summer nikkas started going" :dwillhuh:Ay this down down baby shyt kinda hard" I saw it happen to me and at my school. The song started rising on TRL despite being months old. It was only then when Nelly started getting interviews

Country Grammar went from video show filler to a true organic hit over the course of months in a year where the Marshall Mathers LP also sold 10 million copies

There's so much wrong with this post.

No Limit was bigger than all those labels in 98. They're also the only label mentioned that pulled off a national tour by themselves with no help. And they did that in '99.

East coast was not playing no Cash money tapes in 98. HA was a hit single on the radio. That's as far as it went for them at that point.
Dmx outsold everyone on no limit.

Damn, now I think about it, even if Future hadn't got that Drake nod (DF cosigned him) shyt, Rocko was the one who gave him the nod as well
at least he was on A1 ENT as early as Streets Calling if my memory correct.

Who cosigned Rocko though?
Drake is in no way shape or form responsible for Future's popularity or success

Nelly is 100% correct. All of the big names had major co-signs back then. Y’all gotta remember this was an era where affiliations meant everything. A lot of people weren’t even checking for rappers that didn’t have some sort of affiliation

Luda already had a name in ATL and that’s how he got on Face’s radar

Em had Dre. Only reason people even checked for Em becuz he had already floated around underground for years and went nowhere

50 had Em and Dre. Of course he already had a name somewhat but know way he blows up the way he did without them

Ja had Irv who already had pull in the NYC scene. Matter fact he did some production on Mic Geronimos debut in 95 which btw features a song with Ja, Jay, and DMX

Nelly got it all the way out the mud. Sure there have been plenty of other rappers who didn’t have co-signs but none of them came close to blowing up how Nelly did
