i still bump Country Grammar from time to time. I never peeped any of the others though.

i remember buying that album. i re-listened to it a few years ago and i honestly didnt like much of the album, but songs like Country Grammar, EI, Batter Up.. still go hard as fukk.

Great choice. Nelly is definitely overlooked. Though Noah hit on a true point that nobody really bought into Nelly's personal narrative. He didn't have one.

Is anything old an automatic classic now?

I was in middle school when it came out and only chicks, maybe a few squares, bumped this.

nelly was indeed a great songwriter. he had a knack for makin' some catchy shyt :obama:
"country grammar" is timeless :dj2:

i like the quote that he said right at the end and he's right too :myman:

"i didn't have another major artist bless me say, "this my man". i didn't have a super producer to bring me out. kanye west had dame dash and jay z. i didn't have them. eminem had dr. dre. 50 cent had em and dre. you know what i'm sayin'? ja rule had irv gotti and all them muthafukkas that knew what the fukk they was doin' and got a chance to be on a record with dmx and jay z when he first came out. i didn't have that. i got thrown in the deep of the pool with country grammar in st. louis and was told to swing. that's why can't nobody take nothin' from me" :salute::whew:
