If we’re gonna keep it real, Nakamura’s main roster WWE run in general has been underwhelming so far. :yeshrug:

It wasn't a bad match. The problem is, it was never going to live up to the hype or to their first match, because of the different variables to both matches.

WK match it was pretty much both of their last matches in NJPW, so they put on a show and it was a great send off both. Also NJPW gives it matches time, which the WWE don't always do unless your :hhh:

Bell to bell, they got 20:20, all of 20 seconds less than the big Rousey showcase got. Plenty enough time to have a great match that didn’t have any fukkery until after it was done.

WWE didn’t slight them; they heavily pushed this as THE dream match, gave Styles (who the company seems close to all in on being their current roster in-ring gawd) and Nakamura the stage on their most important show of the year to deliver and they just didn’t do it. They put out something... adequate and that’s entirely on them and whoever the agent was.

For a match that was a potential show stealer it was very very underwhelming. When two near 50 wrestlers, an over 40 mother, and a rookie put on the best match of the night over two of the best on the roster it's fair to call it trash.

If the New Japan match had never happened, this match would be much better received by the consensus.

Yes, it fell flat by the WK match standard. But just because something wasn't a 5-star classic doesn't mean the match was trash.

Cmon breh, that shyt was a piss break.

No drama, no height impact moves, no energy.

WWE style strikes again :wow:

That match would’ve been dope literally ANYWHERE ELSE.

keeping this filed for next time someone says

“Man I liked to see a ________ vs _______ match in the WWE! They deserve to wrestle on the biggest stage!”:blessed:

It was underwhelming because it was some :trash: face vs face "dream match" feud with no intensity to it at all.

Honestly wasn't looking forward to it that much because it felt like there was no stakes, it was more about "putting on a show" than winning the title.

Now that nakamura is heel I'm expecting their next match to be much more fast paced and intense.l now that there's some bad blood.

It was like a 3.5. It was still a good match but it was slightly dissapointing. If it would have opened the show and not been 6 hours in, it would have had an entirely different feel

This match had a lot going against it for sure. I remember watching it the night of Mania and thinking it was just meh as hell. For some reason it felt like it was ending just as it was getting out of first gear.

I'm no neckbeard, but i'm definitely someone who pimped out that WK match. It was my favorite wrestling match of that year, I recommended the hell out of it, and AJ/Nak were definitely getting the pom pom treatment from yours truly. So yeah, I was disappointed.

Then I went back and I watched it again. It's certainly no Wrestle Kingdom match. But if you just go and watch it as a match? It was actually pretty good. However, by that point, the crowd, and us watching live had just watched like 5 hours of fukking wrestling.

I don't think the crowd was out of the match because it was bad (though the build really shyt the bed), I think they were out of it because they were half fukking exhausted. Dead ass crowds can KILL mechanically good matches. shyt, just watch 205.

Had the match come on earlier in the card, smarks would have likely cried bloody murder about it not going on later...but I can almost guarantee the reception would have been better. NOT the 6 star match folks got gassed for, but better.

And nah, that Roman/Brock match was not better. That was fukking WWE 2K finisher spam, a desperate hardway color job and a crowd that woke back up because booing someone you hate is more motivation to interact than two faces that get along wrasslin'. Stop it. You can shyt on this match without comparing it to a landfill of shyt.

It was okay, but it wasn't trash. It just didn't live up to the hype everyone was giving it. :yeshrug:

It's almost like you're setting them up for failure when you have Corey Graves literally say at the beginning of the match that it's going to be a classic. They have a chance to redeem themselves soon.

That match was fine but the expectations were through the roof unfortunately. It would’ve benefited from one of them being a heel.

Both take a solid babyface ass whooping but
Shinsuke woulda been better off being the one handing it out with those stiff kicks he was giving aj after
