the problem with this is, you're trying to cater kids watching at home, AND an arena full of adults. Goes back to my thread about the New Age Outlaws and everyone in Philly STILL knowing their shtick by heart b/c majority of wrestling fans are older than the TV-PG demographic.

The two audiences can't co-exist 100%

Yup. Can't be everything to everybody. You gotta pick an audience and go with it. But if the majority of people at your shows are grown ass men you gotta cater to them in my mind. Especially since theyre the demo watching at home that's got money to spend

Women have always constituted between a third and a fourth of the WWE's viewing audience.

Which makes that comment he made even more asinine from the standpoint of character and action. It's one thing when Jericho calls Steph a hoe based off of her doing actions that someone could recognize as loose or behavior that even a woman would look at and say "yeah she's kinda hoeish" but it's another thing entirely when you have someone be called a hoe because she represents Russia and wears skirts and a jacket. If women are a third and a fourth of their viewing audience and turned out in big numbers in the late 90s, then you won't alienate them by doing what you used to do or at least by being consistent with your product but the problem is they're trying to please everybody and it just makes for a confusing product in the ring and out of it

My issue is if you're going to do it then do it. Don't half ass it. Don't be pg most of the time but then try to be hard edged for convenience. It's just frustrating as a fan to watch the product that seemingly doesn't know what it wants to be

Maaaan, be for real. If Daniel Bryan came out and said that shyt, which would be waaaay out of his character, nobody would be typin' out essays about it.

But besides that, seriously tho'- people get upset and blame everything they don't like on "PG", but when it steps a lil outside of "PG", it offends the shyt outta them. It's just kinda :pachaha: how some fans/smarks/whatever don't even realize they've essentially become what they claim they don't like about the product.

But of course, it's usually when a wrestler they don't like is the one doing it... :mjpls:

Oh you're right. I agree 100% but it's just the inconsistency with the e overall that bugs me. This is just a microcosm
