David Lemieux vs Hassan N'dam set for June 20 at 10:00 p.m. ET from the Bell Centre in Montreal,
Canada for vacant IBF belt.

Fox Sports 2 will televise the contest.

The IBF title that was stripped from Jermain Taylor earlier this year will be up for grabs at the Bell Centre on June 20, when power punching David Lemieux faces Hassan N'dam to fill the middleweight vacancy, it was announced on Friday. A press conference to make the fight officially official will be held this coming Wednesday.

Lemieux (33-2, 31 KO) signed with Golden Boy Promotions earlier this year, following an HBO win over Gabriel Rosadoin December, but that triggered a lawsuit from Groupe Yvon Michel in Quebec, who claimed to still have Lemieux under contract. Golden Boy won a purse bid for Lemieux-N'dam in April as the only bidder, offering the minimum accepted bid of $102,000, for a 50-50 purse split between the fighters.

It was then feared that N'dam (31-1, 18 KO) might back out of the fight given the low payday against a big puncher, especially after his promoter, King Sports Worldwide, had previously offered him $300,000 to secure the fight. Taking the fight for a $51,000 purse was certainly seen as a backwards step, Le Journal de Montreal reports that N'dam took the fight because he "got a substantial amount of money from a third party."

N'dam last fought on October 1, beating Curtis Stevens in California, which was an IBF eliminator.

Have they announced US television rights for this yet?

Semi interesting fight as two decent MW's going at it. Hope that whoever wins looks GGG's way for a fall/winter fight.

Lemiuex can crack, how is N'Dam's chin?

n'dam's chin is serviceable...i mean the guy got KD by quillin 6 times and didn't get ko'ed

the thing though is lemieux's chin is suspect as hell and n'dam has the power to crack it

N'Dam is feeling some kind of way abut how much he is getting paid.

Mustapha Ouicher, trainer of top rated middleweight contender Hassan N'Dam, has verbally erupted over the financial terms for the upcoming fight with David Lemieux for the vacant IBF middleweight crown. The fight takes place on June 20th from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. Fox Sports 2 will televise the contest.

Ouicher is angry over the low compensation that N'Dam is receiving for the contest and wants some answers regarding what took place at the official purse bid and how the promoters divided up all of the money. He also had words for Lemieux's manager, Camille Estephan.

"Team Lemieux tried to evade the issue, but that won't happen. How do you explain that the only purse bid for the organization of such a big event is $102,000 is made by Golden Boy, while our promoter is a billionaire? If that's not called a scam, I will let the boxing fans have their own personal opinion about it," Ouicher told BoxingScene.com.
