I’m in NC, and my mother has one where she lives. She was the third one to buy property when they broke ground. She and my stepdad was also the first black people there. How can she pay dues to a HOA she never signed up to be apart of? They don't have her signature on any paperwork and she brought her home before the HOA came into existence.
