Does anyone personally know how the NBA & NFL groupies from 15-20 years ago ended up today? I'm a young breh and it will be really interesting to see where today's IG groupies end up when they lose their looks & youth. Did they try to pull a Draya and get with younger athletes when they started aging out? Many of them seem to have this sense of entitlement like in the video below that will be unsustainable when they get old. The girl talking (24 min mark, she's 31) was dating NFL player Darnell Savage.

I remember in my younger days I was simping over this IG thot who had everyone in the DMs, come to find out today she's working at some no-name bar in Florida looking stressed on Tiktok. Lost her IG and aged a lot too, this was only a 4 year period.

Lol she broke up a couple weeks ago with an NFL player she dated for 8 months. Her birthday was in May and he said he was giving her a custom gift (she thinks jewelry) in addition to the $15K he already gave her. While they were texting recently about her sending him back some of his stuff he left at her house, she asked about the custom gift and he said he cancelled the order since the broke up. She said she's not giving him his stuff unless he gives her money for the gift. These dudes are straight clowns for entertaining women like this.
Yea I knew a lot of them. Worked around and had family in league.
Basically it’s like this:
90% of them you only saw a few times, during the same span of a few months. Being a groupie is not sustainable and most of them are just friends of the main groupie a player actually associates with. And they are usually younger so this is new to them.
After a while (back in my FB and early IG days) they would just go back to being regular ppl and you see them and they are married or just 100% normal women and you’re like “damn I remember her she was wild”
The other small % gets in the mags (in my day) or IG models but they bounce from athletes to dope boys etc because athletes get traded/go broke/etc so they never just rely on athletes. These are your long term strippers/IG models that you can’t tell what they do - if they really come up they may make it to reality TV or owning a salon and being semi funded status
Then you have the known chicks like Draya who are rarer than rare, like the Lebron of this stuff. They are associated with players and athletes and rappers and stay in the blogs nonstop, but it’s their entire lifestyle and being. I know a few of them but that life ain’t for me
And then some get wifed up by athletes but I’ve seen most become miserable because most of the retired guys I know go broke so it all falls down anyway

Most are kinda immediately broke - during NFL lockout some years back I remember guys was taking payday loans and borrowing cash from friends. Hell I’ve been in Vegas in offseason during regular year and dudes was borrowing 2k for a table or $200 for a cell bill (no lie)
Think about it like this. 98% of players don’t make generational wealth, and they only get checks from Sept to Dec (unless they make the playoffs)
Even a person great with money can’t go all those months with ZERO paycheck, that’s why they be pressed to hit bonuses or OTA bonuses and stuff.
Clubs they be in for free and one or a few dudes front the liquor and the women can’t tell the different eveyeone big with chains and clout lol.
Now there are a lot of former players who get normal jobs in all types of field. I don’t think people realize how many former athletes are educated good guys who work as bankers or for startups or for NFLPA or whatever too. And those guys have grown out of the groupie stuff.
Now I think about it I don’t know anyone still on Tia has they gotten older.
I do know one Madam who was active in my day who is still active it seems. And there’s a blog (B A) that was a front for prostitution but that’s another story

Yeah on Shannon Sharpe’s recent Nightcap pod he was saying how some NFL players get advances on their salaries for the upcoming season because they go broke during the offseason. That came to mind when Terrell Lewis ran off on that prostitute in the leaked video last weekend. He’s on the minimum and legit might not have had the money to pay her.
