the new additions might be better individual players than the ones they replaced but that doesnt necessarily mean they it will pay dividends for the team.Howard was serviceable, probably led in the lockeroon and made hustle plays on court..These players dont do anything other than shoot, which is going to reduce lebron/bosh/wade's shot att
you're over analyzing this. Heat's biggest weakness for years has been their perimeter shooting. Assuming Rashard isn't tossing up bricks from the corner and Ray Allen is a semblance of his old self, there's no downside to this whatsoever. These guys are just to fortify a bench that can
finally shoot back with these perimeter heavy teams.
You didn't watch most of the Heats games blood. Howard NEVER played unless it was a blowout or it was garbage time. The WHOLE POINT of adding these guys is so they can stretch the floor. Besides James Jones, Battier, and Chalmers, there were no servicable shooters on this team. None.
Lebron is only going to be more confident and better than he was last season. So you have essentially the same deadly team except one of its biggest weaknesses--perimeter shooting-- has finally been addressed. What will be interesting to see is how motivated they are this season.
The question for the heat's repeat success will lie not in the pieces they've added, but more so, how will players on the team who already won respond? If they're still hungry, they are going to eat again, but if they come out like the Mavs did last season (which I strongly doubt will happen) there's no reason the Heat won't be in the Finals again.
