One thing I hate about Live is how layups never go off the glass. The players always throw the ball above the rim and it falls down as if someone dropped it from the roof of the arena. 
The ball physics still need work. The way the ball moves in mid-air looks as if they're playing on the moon.

This and the fact that no matter what they do the players have never looked like they have weight to them, still holds them back to me. The dribbling and the players fighting through screens and the off ball contact is great looking enough that I'm hoping if they can get the little things down they will be taking 2ks spot soon.
Have you played live 14 and 15?
It's been a rough start, but they are finally starting to get to a proper release. I think it will be 2017 or 2018 before that happens though.

Not gonna lie I'm a little impressed.
Player models and jerseys still look off but the lighting is great and the amount of detail on the actual courts is amazing. You can see the scratches on the paint and sidelines. Definitely the best looking courts in a bball game.
Gameplay doesn't look to bad either though they're still those weird animations. I definitely might cop Live this year.
