I hope this is true. The Suns are in a position where they will have to pay a lot of luxury tax with the current core and I don't trust Sarver to pay long term. The Ayton situation was just the first sign.

Sarver did the same thing with the Steve Nash Suns. He ran Joe Johnson out of town because he didn't want to pay him. He traded picks that eventually became Rondo, Ibaka, and Luol Deng just to save money. He traded Shawn Marion because he felt he was asking for too much.

After the Nash era ended, it was a decade of losing until now. Most Suns fans would welcome a new owner.

He got spooked when Phoenix overachieved this season and realized that he was going to have to dip into the luxury tax to keep this team together. I think he's just fine with making the playoffs and not actually having any championship aspirations
