I live in a white area and I understand what you're trying to say but people repping FNDY was a thing right after 9/11. Yankees,Mets,Jets,Giants,Knicks repping FDNY back in late 2001 early 2002 was more of a pride thing....Today, nobody really cares and people who only wear "FDNY" are probably actual firefighters or family of firefighters.

EDIT: After saying all that it is funny the knicks are basing their jersey around it. I'm personally not a fan of the design, the firefighter shyt looks like trash to me.

Why do they call a trash city like Cleveland "The land"? I like their jersey but "The land" is just dumb. Orlando's jerseys look like a last minute 5th grade project. Brooklyn's jersey is fire and idk what the hell the Knicks were thinking with that basic ass jersey.

I feel like "fire", "on fire", "heating up" references that represent when a player/team is hitting shots kind of make sense, actually.

I do agree that there was a host of different options they could have went with, though.

The Giants just did an FDNY tribute on the 9-11 anniversary and they were rocking the hats all season I think like two years ago... matter fact, I think the Jets wore the FDNY hats on the anniversary.
