When you really get into the nuances, the series is the textbook definition of style over substance. Tweaked the sliders just to see if I could force the CPU to call a timeout. Raised my 3PT slider to 100 and turned down the CPUs offense to 0. I outscored the Lakers 47-3 over the span of 8 minutes.Not a single timeout was called.

Is the gameplay better?
vs the cpu do they still make you brick shots in hall of fame mode instead of actually making the AI smarter? This been a pet peeve of mine since 2k8, so i'm not actually expecting change here.
But how about our AI teammates, are they smarter and not do dumb shyt if you ain't manually controlling them?
Basically is it worth a purchase on ps4?

Yes, most ppl say 2K18 was the worst so its better. If you are planning to upgrade to PS5, I would just wait on buying. If not, you should go ahead and buy since its cheap.
And no AI is not any smarter, AI has always been stupid and bad
Say, brehs. It's been a minute since I played 2k. How do I set my defense so players help when the pg gets past me other nikkas help? It used to be right on the dpad, but now none of that shyt working. I be giving up way too many eat shots.
