Yea they’ll never get it right again on their own. Hopefully Live gets their shyt back together some day, because they actually managed to make a better career mode imo with The One or whatever. The gameplay just doesn’t hold up

Prince has been missing some 3 years now too. The 2008 hornets, 2002 kings, and 2007 warriors all have some 6-7 guys too. The 2005 suns are useless now as well with no joe Johnson. We get the 2014 spurs but no Diaw or Manu. Both grizzlies teams are missing multiple wings (at least Mike Miller and OJ Mayo). The 2006 heat until last year only had the top 7 guys in the rotation and still are missing most of their backups. The 2008 Celtics are missing a few key bench guys. That’s not even going into player model or uniform errors like old at the end of his career Kobe being the player model for the 2004 lakers or how they’d use present day Chalmers, LeBron, and birdman on the heat and hornets respectively.

I think with Kobe they use that model because he hasn't changed much from a looks perspective, when I use the Lakers I usually just use the Frobe era Lakers. If they're going to keep using the classic teams then they probably need to just stick to the pre 00s teams.

It’s 2K being lazy. In 2004 Kobe had almost no ink on his arm and had a full head of hair instead of being bald. He also clearly looks way older. It’s a matter of them not wanting to be bothered. One year they copy and pasted 2005 Amare from the suns onto the 2012 Knicks, wrong uniform number, no goggles, no ink, same exact attributes and everything. Until last year they copy and pasted Alonzo mourning from the 1993 hornets to the 2006 heat too even though Zo had been bald for years by then. Same Shaq models on his 1998, 2001, 2004, and 2006 classic teams when he progressively added more ink with each of those teams. 2K just doesn’t want to be bothered putting effort in. All they put any focus on is monetizing the game and making it so broken that you have to pay to win every year. Most developers and publishers (even EA) wouldn’t be this lazy. They’re just as bad with the smackdown series every year too.

I agree that VC is being lazy because they do the same shyt with the classic models in the WWE games(03 Rock is basically current Rock), but in 04 Kobe was rocking the short hair and baldy off & on.
