It started off ok but they robbed of its impact on racism, imo. Leaving out the rape too? Smh. The ending was so preditable too. Maybe others will like it bit its but its not for me

Great production, direction, and acting, but I agreed with a New Yorker review I read that said basically the material from the book has reached it's limit, though I never read the it, I know the Baldwin commentary.
This was the dumbest n1gga on earth. I woulda just drove around with her until her high came down. Was the book as dumb as the movie?

Even though this movie is beautifully shot, I didn't like it.
Modernizing the story cost the movie some of its key thematic points, and almost none of the soul of the book is present in this version.
