We? Our people where in our ethnic homelands during both ww. We are as european as chow mein.:deadhorse:

no trolling/offense but I have no idea what you mean?

europes absorbed tens of millions of non europeans since the 60s whilst getting little in return other than some cool new foods, higher crime rates, balkanization of working class areas and a trillion euro welfare bill. when times are good, peoplw will remain tolerant. but now that europeans aint got a pot to piss in, tolerance goes out the window. multiculturalism has been an abject failure and when e.u eventually fails i see largescale repatrion of large swathes of europess minorities. especially those poor roma gypsies.

ethnic, blood and soil nationalism. its rise is as inevitable as it is dangerous.

:whoa: let's go easy on the simplistic finger-pointing tactics breh. Leave that to the Front National, PVV and them.

Any perceived increases in nationalism are simply the vestiges of cultural responses to globalism. It's futile in this day and era. Conservative enforcement of national lines and cultures won't prevent shyt. The internet blends all cultures, and humans are more mobile than ever before. I personally think nationalism was much more of an issue back in the day than it is now, but thats just me... The same nationalism that fueled WWI/WWII style conflict isnt what it used to be. Everyone's too interdependent to really go to bat against other countries like that.

Just my take. Also, I need to sleep. that probably didnt make shyt for sense.

No it makes sense breh, I mean intellectually it definitely does but on the ground it's kind of different, when I see Flemish nationalism (dutch-speaking Belgians) it is still very much present. Basically it combines elements of: everything that goes wrong in Belgium/Flanders is the fault of french-speaking Belgians and of immigrants, what we do ourselves we do better than others, only white people can be "truely" Flemish (they use the term "allochtoon" -as opposed to autochthon- since it's not PC to use "coloured", "stranger"...), they just banned the use of other languages at school (not in class, At RECESS), they're a debate going with artists because they are considered too "cosmopolitan"...and that's in Flanders, one of the most interconnected (and richest) regions in Europe, where a lot people speak two or three languages, travel all the time, study abroad and everything, have easy access to all kinds of media/info...so no it won't (hopefully) lead to a military conflict but the cultural and political conflict is already there.

came in here to say this.

Time to call in HL's European expert, @88m3

Nationalism is certainly on the rise in Europe. It came up in many of my interactions.

I also met quite a few people who were in support of a United Europe(EU).

The term Nationalism especially when used in America is linked to White Power Movements.

Nationalism and xenophobia/racism often go hand in hand but not necessarily.

I wouldn't consider Nationalism a social issue.

There are many types of Nationalism as well, some being very positive in my opinion.

the war between financial classes is the one no one ever talks about. it's interesting that America focuses on race, sexuality, and religion while people in Europe/Asia focused on what class you belonged to.
