Don’t do that. Don’t hype up Jake Paul.

This is him. He’s 6”1 actually, not 6”2. Nate is 5”9. Four inches is not a big deal. He looks like your average college white boy in a frat. And he just knocked out a professional NBA player :mjlol: This loss is all on Nate. While I understand boxing is a different sport, from all his years of training, he should be stronger, better conditioned and faster than some hobbyist athlete. If he took training seriously, his skill set could’ve transferred over. But he didn’t. He looked like he hadn’t trained whatsoever. He wasn’t even in a boxer’s stance and his punches looked horrible. He thought it was a game and he got knocked out. Don’t play up this cac to be some next level fighter :mjlol:

Nobody is saying that Jake is an elite fighter but simply highlighting that dude has some level of training :manny:

The first thing people should do when learning to box is erase the images of Floyd, Pernell, and Roy from their minds. Learn a text book stance because you're not going to have the natural of range to operate with a low guard.

The second thing they should learn to do is act as thought their arm has a rubber-band attached to it. You throw a punch, your hands come back. Under no circumstances should you throw a punch and then spring forward with both or your hands down.

I hope that Jake Paul becomes a case of Icarus. It is easy to look dominant when you're dealing with someone who has zero experience because you're fukking with someone who has not unlearned bad habits. Put him in the ring with a gym rat/journey man and see what happens.

Dunno why boxing is taken so lightly. You wouldn't expect to fight enter a judo tournament with zero experience. You wouldn't expect to enter a tennis tournament with zero experience. It isn't as simple as "fukk the other guy up".
This.
Jake Paul has been boxing for 3 years and has been in 4 fights. This is nates first fight. The outcome really isn’t that surprising.
Only two years, and this was his third fight.
Mentality that needs to get washed.

He is a youtuber who has been training for a few years. There are levels to this shyt.

Jake knew to bring his hands back and to not keep his head in the same place after throwing a punch.

Being blunt, this should serve as an example of why you should spend time learning a combat sport. Just learn the basics of striking and grappling. You cannot rely on athleticism because someone with minimal experience, when you have none, will tax your ass.
Jake Paul's form was horrible - that wasn't two years of solid training. If Nate Robinson knew his fundamentals he wouldn't have gotten washed like that.

For some reason I figured he was some shytty MMA fighter so I was confused why people would be clowning Nate for getting knocked out by a professional fighter even if he’s a bum in that world, it’s a different combat sport, and Nates a freak athlete.

then I googled and he’s just a YouTube weirdo with a couple other gimmick fights :dead:

Dude ain’t a better fighter. He was just more patient. Nate would beat the shyt out of dude in a real fight with no rules. But once he caught him with that first hit it was curtains ever since. He never got his bearings and he was still charging in and not pacing himself. Very amateur boxing displayed by Nate and either he didn’t listen to his trainers or he had some SERIOUSLY shytty trainers. They didn’t teach him defense AT ALL.
Yes he is:russ:

This fight also exposed how nate dont got hands really

Boxing is a sport that doesn’t really take transferrable skills imo. You don’t play boxing as the saying goes. Sure, Nate is strong, fast and athletic but that has nothing to do with timing, protecting yourself, and general ring etiquette.

Speed and strength don’t kill in boxing, timing and footwork do. Athleticism has little do with fighting, which is why George Forman was a heavyweight champ at almost 50.

I do think Nate should’ve actually trained by sparring so he had an idea of what happens in a boxing ring, but just being a basketball player or athlete doesn’t give an inherit advantage in a boxing ring. I also agree that Jake Paul sucks and he just had more experience.
I think speed, timing, footwork, strength are all pretty transferrable - particularly from basketball. Speed, timing, and strength coming in would be a deadly combination with the fundamentals down. It didn't look like Nate Robinson had been taught the proper stance, defense, or even proper form for punching and combinations.

A lot of those things most boys grow up developing when they slapbox and fight in the neighborhood and school.

everybody clownin Nate right now (even other black men) EXCEPT him
Cause its funny

Respec for nate goin in the ring but he asked for this.

Thinking along with the other dumb nikkas that cause he is fit and played football/ball he would win with no proper training

Dumb nikka asked for this

And now we all got something to laugh at:mjlol:

His offense wasn’t the issue. It was the defense. He actually landed more punches than Jake. nikkas don’t understand that boxing is an artform. And there is ways things are supposed to be done if u wanna survive in the ring.

That shyt was a issue nate was charging Jake wildly.

Nate having more punches wasn't gon last long honestly

And given the results that don't mean shyt.

Ya boy can't fight:russ:

That wasn't lucky..he timed in those wild rushes and clocked him on the jaw for the 3rd and final KD. Nate made no adjustment after the first time he got clocked like that. He went down from the same punches. That's not lucky breh lol. Nate cant fight.
No shyt nate can't fight at all

That cac below marginally trained and was flailing those punches he just had a more practiced routine flailing and would get his ass murdered by anyone with training

shyt was no calculated ko
