If Thompson can Ko him...so can Mac. And Josh did it @ 155.

It baffles me why Conor's camp didn't demand 155. Nate would have to cut approximately 25 lbs....Conor would just have to cut 12 or 13.

He beats Nate (probably by KO)...he immediately becomes the no.1 contender @ 155...neither Eddie nor RDA can take that power and precision. Only bad match up @ 155 for Mac is Khabib....and maybe El Cucuy

Every advantage Conor enjoyed at 145 is gone. His size, speed and stamina are taxed at 170lbs. And his power advantage is gone compared with Nate. I think he realizes what a test this will be and will add some mass to add some power. His stamina will be back after being 170lbs for so long. I bet he's going to gain weight for this fight and will probably never see 145 again because of that.

Either way though, unless Conor fights boring and wins by points, I don't see a change in the result. Nate will the same thing: volume, pressure and more volume. Conor gonna gas in Round 4 instead of Round 2.

I don't think he cares about it being an easy fight, Conor seems like a guy who likes challenges when it comes to fighting.
And cutting weight doesn't make Nate's reach and height advantage vanish either which seemed to be the main problem in the first fight.

I don't buy it. Forcing both fighters to fight at 170 when both would perform better at 155 is just dumb. Besides, even Nate says real challenge is him, with camp, at 155. He says McGregor wouldn't have even been able to touch him.

McGregor: Challenge not accepted......... :whoa:

at 145, McGregor's got some of the best hands, fast and precise, at 155, 10 pounds above that, he probably wouldn't lose much of that speed and precision.

Nate's punching power would be closer to what McGregor's used to (he fought Mendes, took some shots and didn't go down), and I think Nate would be surprised by McG's power at that weight.

Fight's happening at 170 tho, guess we gotta see what happens this time around, hopefully Conor worked on his stamina so that we don't get a 2 round fight again.

Mcgregor is mentally weak, mendes throws arm punches like a lot of mma fighters, that's the only reason he didn't KO Conor when he hit him with the right hand.

Conor punches harder than Nate diaz, but it doesn't matter, because Nate can take his punches, and Conor can't take being hit, he's not tough enough in the mind to fight through adversity. He could knock Nate by letting shots pile up, but he isn't elusive enough to avoid being hit, and he doesn't respond well with being hit, especially to the body.

^^^^the more I think about it....the more I think it's punishment.

I know Conor is a proud fighter...but if Zuffa still really fukked with Conor like that...they'd make this fight happen at 155...or even throw even more money to try to lure Nate to 145.

I think they wanna semi-cash McGregor out...have Nate paw him up again...taking some luster off him to humble him and to dodge the Mayweather bullet...he'll still be a guy you can say is a true fighter, a legit p4per, and the fw champ of the world.

Not gonna work, though....Mac's getting a decision. :smugfavre:

Diaz is a triathlete and is a machine he will either out last any heavy tussling and conor will be fatigued or diaz will submit him again

If this fight was at 55....there's virtually no doubt in my mind that Conor wins...

I think a 15 lb. Weight cut in a full training camp isn't totally a bad thing. Keeps you disciplined and literally /figuratively hungry.

45 seems too much and 70 seems too lax. Nate is gonna fight @ 170...but he walks around @ 180-185. :francis:...

Conor will decision him, I think...but it will be difficult.

Nate is a true 55er. In what world does he walk around at 80-85? You do know that the only reason the fight was at 170 the first time was because nate didnt have time to cut weight. He walked in out of shape at 170.

The same results will happen if the fight was at 155. Conor wouldnt knock him out, his ground game wouldnt be much better than it was and nates cardio is infinitely better. Hes a horrible matchup for conor regardless the weight class

It would have been fun to see McGregor relevant at multiple weight classes, but a short notice Diaz killed that right in its tracks. . .

Hopefully Diaz wins quickly and viciously, so we can have an active featherweight division!
